Waking up

A/N: I know it's been a while, but let me know what you think- L.

The girls had been gone for two weeks. Two weeks since the thunder storm and since Hank had been late picking them up. And the whole country seemed to be on the lookout for the two of them. Amber Alerts had been flashing, search parties had been sent, and everyone, including Xander and Cordelia had been questioned in the investigation.

"Ma'am, it's unlikely that we'll find them as time goes on, so it's in all of our best interest if you would please cooperate and answer the question." Detective Lockley from the LAPD said to Cordelia for the tenth time that day.

"Listen, I already told you everything I know, they got into a black BMW, and there was the letter 'z' in the liscence plate. It looked like a rental car though." She shrugged, "That's all I can remember, what more do you want me to say?" She looked expectantly at the blonde detective, who in turn looked slightly aggrivated. It had been two weeks and no one had seen or heard from either of the girls. As far as they could tell, the best friends had gotten into the car willingly, but something just didn't sit right with her. There was something that no one was telling them going on and as far as she was concerned she was going to do whatever it took to get to the bottom of this. She was determined to find these two, whether they were dead or alive she wanted them found.

"And before that, did they have any enemies?" She snapped at the cheerleader.

"Like I told you, the only one I knew about was Angel." She looked down, averting her eyes from the piercing blue ones of the cop in front of her.

"And what exactly was his beef with the two of them? Everyone says they weren't good friends by any means, but no one seems to be able to tell me why that is. I mean, its pretty obvious after doing a little digging in the blonde's room that they used to be very close." She didn't mention that it seemed like Willow's room, none the less her house, looked like it hadn't been visited in over a week. That was odd, but not too unusual considering that the girl's parents were out of town.

"No one knew what was up with that. I already told you." Cordy stared her straight in the eyes. There was no budging on the subject in the brunette's eyes. It was none of this detective's business that the girls had been romantically involved. After all, what good would that do except for probably encourage some cops to look alot less than they were already?

***************************Meanwhile, in a dark dank room somewhere*******************************

"I'm scared." Willow managed to rasp out into the darkness surrounding her. She had realized that there was only one way to stay sane in her new world. To talk. You had to talk or all the voices in your head would eat you away. They would eat and eat and eat until there was none of you left.

'Listen to me, it's all going to be okay.' One said to her slyly. Its voices strained her ears even though she couldn't actually hear it outside of her head. She hadn't seen daylight in nearly two weeks. Well, nearly two weeks by her calculations anyway.

"Shut up! Shut up and go AWAY!!" She hollered into the darkness, grabbing onto her hair in a vain attempt to pull the voices out of her head. She yanked her hair violently before she sank onto the ground in the fetal position and proceeded to rock back and forth, holding onto her knees and wishing for Buffy.

***************************Two Miles Away*******************************************

"Didn't I tell you that you'd pay, Bitch?" The voice asked her. She had a blindfold on, and had had it on for the last week. She didn't know where she was, but wherever it was, she wasn't with Willow, that much was for sure. All she could smell was molasses and the sea.

She nodded her head softly, trying to be submissive. If there was any way in hell she was going to be able to get out of this mess, that would be it. She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take, she knew for sure that her left arm was broken and she was bleeding from various new holes that had been made in her body in all sorts of places. Her jaw ached even more as her captor backhanded her again.

"Talk Bitch!" He commanded. And then laughed, a hollow evil sounding laugh. "Oh that's right, wait...you can't." He said before he backhanded her again. The last thing she felt was the pain on both sides of her face from hitting a wall and a fist before she passed out, her last thought of Willow, and how she was doing.

***************************Back at the Summers House***********************************

Xander paced anxiously, it had been nearly three weeks and still there was no word from any of them. Any including Angel, who had dissappeared shortly after the girls, only not nearly so quickly. He had gone to school once in the last week, the rest of the time he was 'sick'. Xander shook his head in dissapointment as he stared out the window, nearly hoping for a miracle. To see his best friends come home.

Right then and there he made a vow. He would go and follow Angel the next time he saw the bastard. He would find Willow and Buffy.

***************************Back in that dark dank room somewhere**************************

Willow awoke with a start. "Buffy?" She called out. She heard a whimper from two feet to her left and she reached a hand out tentatively. "Oh my god! Buffy!" She cried before she pulled the blonde into her arms. Buffy for her part did nothing but cry. That was all she felt she could do. She had woken up in the dark, and felt a body next to hers but had assumed that they were dead due to how cold they had felt to her touch.

"Willow." Was all she managed to say before she passed out from sheer exhaustion.

"Now it's your turn Strawberry." The voice said before Willow felt a pinch in her right arm, and was surrounded by cloudiness, accompanied by an inability to move.
