Waking up

by Lost

Catch a ride!

[reviews]

Willow awoke first, and her first thoughts were of exactly where she was. Then she looked up at the person holding her in their arms and sighed contentidly before snuggling deeper into the blonde's embrace. It had been five days. Five wonderfully fun filled glorious days they had been a couple, and now it was Friday, the day they would leave to go to L.A. for the weekend. Not everyone knew about them of course, they had really only told Xander and his girlfriend, Cordelia. Oddly enough Cordelia had been strangely supportive of the new couple, even going so far as to say that if anyone gave them trouble she'd put a stop to it, her being a cheerleader and all that jazz. And so the new couple was quickly finding new routines that felt natural. Willow would awaken first, and then slowly kiss Buffy awake (who needs an alarm clock when you've got someone to kiss you awake? It pretty much guarentees that you'll be in a better mood.). After that they would take turns showering, and head down for breakfast, be it toast and eggs, or cereal. Then it was off to school, hand in hand all the way, and into chemistry class. Where they would all blatantly ignore Angel. His attempts to alienate himself from the group did nothing but help their attempts to ignore his mere existance. Xander was more than cool with the girls dating, he even went so far as to say if they were open to the idea, he'd invest in a video camera, and although they had quickly turned him down this in no way deterred his efforts.

The school didn't seem to be too apposed to the idea of the girls as a couple, although there were a few kids who seemed to be giving them a hard time. Scott was one of those kids. He seemed to constantly be following the blonde around, and another boy, Oz, seemed very keen on turning Willow straight, as he so bluntly put it. Other than those two there weren't that many of their fellow students that did more than just raise an eyebrow when they saw the couple being openly affectionate. And it was their right to have public displays of affection, after all, the cafeteria was littered with couples, although addmitedly they were pretty much the only same sex couple, they were still a couple through and through.

Buffy woke up slowly from her dream, the one where she'd been dancing with Willow all night long to a soft slow sad song that played over and over in her brain.

She looked down at the redhead in her arms and almost giggled at the look of surprise on the hacker's face when she had realized that the blonde woke up on her own. "Morning." Buffy said softly, as she leaned down and stole a quick kiss from Willow.

"Mmm, morning." Willow replied, holding a hand over her mouth shyly. "I'll be right back." Willow said as she slid quickly off the blonde, and into the bathroom, where she brushed her teeth as quickly as she could, and was almost finished when the blonde walked in.

"Good idea." Buffy said softly as she brushed her teeth as well. Willow finished first and returned to bed, and it was only a minute before Buffy went back as well.

Once the blonde was laying down, Willow snuggled into her side.

"Good morning." Willow said, smiling at her girlfriend, and she leaned forward and shared a passionate kiss with Buffy.

"Mmm, I like this way of waking up much better." Buffy said smiling knowingly. Willow nodded her head emphatically, and began raining down little kisses all over Buffy's face.

"Girls time to get up!" Joyce called from down the hall, she had poked her head in the door before Willow had woken up even, and looked lovingly in on the couple, before deciding that it would probably be best if she wasn't in the room when she called them to wake up. She had simply waited until she heard some kind of movement from the room before calling.

"We're up!" Buffy said back to her, and pouted when Willow pulled back and stood up. "Nuh uh, come back here!" She said to Willow who had turned and started towards the bathroom again.

"Nope, shower time!" Willow said with a cat-ate-the-canary grin firmly on her face as she walked faster to the bathroom. She had almost made it to the door when she felt a pair of arms circle around her from behind.

"Gotcha!" Buffy whispered triumphantly into her ear, sending chills up and down the redhead's spine. All Willow could do was nod in response. "Now, whatever will my prize be?" Buffy continued whispering into her girlfriend's ear, knowing what it did to the redhead.

"Prize?" Willow squeaked, losing control of her voice because of the feeling of Buffy pressed so close behind her.

"Oh, I know...." Buffy said as she turned them around so that the redhead was facing the bedroom, "I get to shower first!" She said as she quickly let go of the redhead and bolted into the bathroom, shutting the door in Willow's face.

Willow smiled at her girlfriend's antics, she was still such a kid sometimes that it made Willow want to laugh. She rolled her eyes, and set out towards the other bathroom.

Buffy walked into her bedroom, towling her hair off and began looking for clothes. She wondered briefly where Willow had gotten to, but simply decided she must have gone down to get breakfast early. She stood there, in front of her closet, trying to choose some clothes to wear, when she suddenly felt a hand on her ass, and a breath on her neck. "Naughty Buffy, stole the shower." Willow said, placing kisses all along the back of her neck. Buffy turned quickly and pulled the redhead to her, devouring her lips like they were candy.

"Ohh, Willow in a towel. Now there's a sight I could get used to." Buffy said, raising her eyebrows suggestivly. Willow quickly blushed at Buffy's words, then Buffy said playfully, "And I wonder how far down that blush goes."

Willow swatted the blonde's arm as Buffy tried to reach for Willow's towel, in an effort to remove it, and said "Sounds like someone's been having naughty girlfriend thoughts." Before she leaned in and kissed the blonde hard, and pulled back suddenly, only to grab her clothes, and walk into the bathroom that Buffy had just vacated, shutting and locking the door behind her.

Because they goofed around so much that morning, there was no way in hell that they would make it to school on time walking, and so, Joyce had offered to drop them at school on her way to the gallery. "Okay, and you've got your clothes?" She asked both girls, and watched in her rear view mirror as they both nodded their heads emphatically. "Alright, Well, he'll be here right after school to pick you girls up. Have fun in L.A." She said, accepting a hug from both girls as they moved to exit the vehicle.

"Okay, bye Mom." Buffy said as she waved goodbye to her mother from the curb. Turning to face the school, she took a tight hold on Willow's hand and redied herself for anything.

Chemistry passed without Angel even acknowledging the two girls, as did lunch. English, Math, and History went smoothly enough, and before they knew it, it was time for school to be out, time to go on their trip. They had just stepped outside when a bolt of lightning struck accompanied by a burst of thunder over head, giving the only warning for when, in two seconds, it began pouring down rain. The girls ran as fast as they could to get out of the rain, trying not to lose ahold of one another as all the students ran for cover. They got to the spot where Hank was supposed to pick him up, only his car wasn't there. Buffy began to tap her foot impatiently, and hold her free hand over her eyes, trying to create some sort of cover for them. Xander and Cordelia walked up to them, wanting to wait to see the two girls off. They all looked around the parking lot for Hank's red car, but there was only a black BMW parked a few feet away, and the rain was coming down so hard you were lucky if you could see more than twenty feet ahead of yourself. As she stood there a woman in a nicely tailored suit stepped out of the passinger side of the vehicle, and walked up to the couple.

"Buffy? Willow?" She questioned, her eyes landing on Buffy when she said Willow and vice versa.

"That's us. Is that our ride?" Buffy answered quickly, trying to avoid becoming completely soaked from head to toe. At the woman's nod she dragged the redhead over to the back of the car where the trunk popped automatically, and dropped both their bags in before leading them around to the door and scooting in so that Willow could come out of the rain. As soon as she was in, Buffy pulled the door shut, and the automatic locks went down.

"I'm Kristi, your dad's secretary, and this is Raul, our driver." Kristi said, introducing herself to the two girls. Kristi stood five feet five inches tall, with dark brown hair, and hazel colored eyes. She wore nearly square framed glasses, and her suit could only be described as a power suit. Raul was dressed typically of a man in the driving industry, black overcoat, black trousers, and a white shirt. Neither girl could see his face, but his eyes were clearly visible in the rear view mirror.

Both girls smiled their hello's, and Willow began to take off her sweater, so that she wouldn't be nearly so wet. Raul put on some soft jazz music, and began the two hour drive to L.A.

Back in the school parking lot:

Xander and Cordelia made a mad dash for her car, only to find out that she left her keys in her last class of the day. "I'll be right back!" She said as she ran back towards the school doors. Xander leaned against her car, and flashed grins at the people he saw walking out slowly, not caring if they got wet or not. Suddenly a red car screeched to a halt right in front of him, about a foot and a half away from running over his shoes.

"Xander, right?" A man with dark blonde hair asked.

"Uhm, yeah, and you are?" Xander asked, rubbing his hands together in an effort to keep them at least kind of warm.

"Hank Summers, Buffy's dad. Listen, do you know if they went home, I've been all over this parking lot trying to find them." He trailed off, letting the boy know he should pick up with an explanation.

"Uhm, they left about ten minutes ago, got into a black car with a man and a woman in it, we all assumed you had sent them." He said, concern growing in his voice.

"Shit!" Hank yelled, pounding his fists on the steering wheel, and he peeled out without even a thank you to Xander for his help.

"Wonder what that was all about." Xander said, more to himself than anyone else since no one was around, and he leaned back against the car again, his worry etched into his features, as he waited for his girlfriend to return.

A/N: ohh, wouldn't this be a horrible place to end it??? ;D- L.
