Waking up

by Lost

Finding out what happened...

[reviews]

All Buffy did was shake her head 'no'. "What?" Lockley asked. And Buffy made a motion for a pen and paper. Which the detective handed over to her quickly. On it, Buffy scribbled 'My jaw is broken.' before she handed it back to the other blonde. "Oh." Lockely said, comprehension dawning on her. She studied the blonde before her, and then followed her gaze towards the redhead. She sighed as she looked between the two girls. There was still something that she didnt know about the two of them, of that much she was sure. However the question of what it was still remained. The paramedics arrived shortly after that, and quickly took all three of the students in, with Lockley following the her squad car behind them. They pulled up to Sunnydale Hospital, and moved the three of them inside, where Lockley called Mrs. Summers and let her know that they had indeed retrieved the girls, and that they were all at the hospital.

Joyce left her house as soon as she heard, and met them all there. Xander's leg was quickly set pending his x-rays, and Buffy's jaw as it turned out was merely knocked out of socket, and after a quick jerk it was fixed. Willow's problem seemed more immenent however, as she still had yet to regain consciousness. Buffy sat by her bedside, holding her hand, and praying to anyone that would listen that the redhead would wake up. Joyce found a phone number for Sheila and Ira Rosenburg and called them, letting them know that their daughter had been found, however they didn't seem all that concerned for her, and said that they would be home in a week or so.

Lockely quietly let herself into Willow's room. She watched them both for a minute, her eyes taking in the blonde's thumb which was stroking small circles on the back of Willow's hand. She cleared her throat to let the other blonde know she was present, before she sat down next to her. "Listen Buffy, I need to ask you a few questions." She said as she pulled out a pen and pad.

"How did you manage to get that guy pinned to the wall like that?" She asked, and when Buffy looked at her it was with hollow eyes that held no hint of forgiveness.

"I killed him.... and then used a staple gun to pin him to the wall. I couldn't take any chances that he might still be alive after what he did to Willow." She said, her voice sounding strong and confident even if it wasnt really.

"How did you kill him?" She asked after she had jotted down this bit of information.

"Broke his neck." This time Buffy didnt look at the detective, and through the back of Buffy's hospital gown, for the first time, she noticed the mark. The mark would soon be a scar, but it was still prominent against her smooth pale skin. It burned red and angry, and was shaped like an upside down female symbol, except for that the circle came to a point at the bottom.

"That's all I need to ask for now, but I'll be back later." She said distractedly. She left the room in a hurry and pulled out her cell phone, calling back to the LAPD. "This is Lockley, I need a symbologist on the phone right away." If she was right in what she thought that the mark meant, then she needed to take action immediately. But before she could do anything she needed to make sure.

"This is Rob Henderson, may I ask whom I'm speaking with?"

"Rob, it's Lockley. I think it's happening again." She said and waited for a response, while for a few seconds she recieved only silence.

"Shit." Was all she heard.
