Waking up

Buffy sat in the hospital room waiting for Willow to wake up. She had been sitting there for three hours when the redhead's eyes fluttered open. Buffy nearly jumped for joy as she looked down at the redhead smiled slightly, and Buffy leaned down, making sure not to hurt the redhead, and hugged her girlfriend for the first time in three weeks. She placed a soft kiss on Willows lips and rested their foreheads together.

Outside of the room, Lockley shut her phone and went back into the room, making sure to be quiet so as not to disturb the blonde. The scene that greeted her was of the redhead and the blonde laying in bed together, curled up. Buffy and Willow were laying toghether in a way that could only be considered spooning; and as she watched, the redhead snuggled more so into the blonde. Lockley doubted that the position was comfortable, what with the blonde's arm being in a cast. She looked at them for a second before it clicked in her mind.

That was what had been missing. She looked from one girl to the other, and as she watched, the redhead cried a little in her sleep, and the blonde shushed her without opening her eyes. "Shhh, it'll be okay now Baby, I've got you." She said as she placed a soft kiss on Willow's cheek. Buffy never opened her eyes as Detective Lockley slowly backed out of the room and into the hallway, prepared to have a few questions answered.

She walked down to the waiting room to see Joyce, Xander, and Cordelia all sitting on the edge of their seats. "Are they doing okay?" Joyce asked as Kate sat down opposite of all of them.

"Yes. But before I answer any more questions, I have a few of my own." The blonde said with determination in her voice. "How long have Buffy and Willow been a couple?" She looked directly at Joyce. Then glanced to Cordelia and Xander. All three seemed to shrug and do their best to avoid the question. Kate looked at all of them with a face that clearly said 'come on!'.

"Who told you that they are one?" Cordelia asked. No one got away with shooting her a glare that looked like that.

"Well, no one." Kate said, a little bit put off by the brunette's commanding tone. "Most people dont sleep like that if they aren't one though." She let the glare she recieved from Queen C go unnoticed. She shrugged in resonse. "It's not that big of a deal honestly, the fact that you didn't tell me I mean, however it could help us with some sort of a motive for their kidnappers." She looked at the three of them, doing her best to gauge their responses. She was about to continue when a nurse walked in.

"Mrs. Summers, you can see them now." She said as the whole group stood up with the hope to get more information on what was going on. "But only one at a time, please?" She asked. The nurse looked ot be rather young and not too confident in herself. Joyce nodded understandingly, and turned to face Kate.

"Would you excuse me?" She asked then turned back and followed the nurse through the doorway and down the hall to see the two girls. When she walked into the room there was her daughter and her girlfriend sharing the bed and eating off of a hospital tray. Buffy's arm was in cast, and Willow looked like she had a broken nose since both of her eyes were black. She rushed over to both of them and wrapped them in a tight hug.

"Hi Mom." Buffy said in a muffled voice, partly due to being in such a tight hug, and partly because she had started to tear up.

Joyce kissed both girls on the cheek and wiped her tears away quickly. "Thank god you're both okay. Detective Lockley, well, she said that they still had to question both of you....and that...." She trailed off as she took in the couple before her.

A nurse popped her head around the corner. "Ma'am, I'm sorry to interrupt, I just thought you should know that visiting hours are over and..." She stopped at Joyce nodding in agreement.

"I'll see you tomorrow girls." She said and kissed both of them on the forehead before walking out of the room and back towards the waiting room.

Buffy looked at Willow and leaned forward placing a soft kiss on her girlfriend's lips. Willow clinged to Buffy and the two cried before they finally drifted off to sleep. There would be a long road in front of them, but they'd get through it, hopefully.
