Mom

[reviews]

"Oh Willow," I said pulling her into my lap and wrapping my arms around her whispering that I would be by her side whenever she wanted. She was crying in my arms when I heard the door open. Mom peeked her head in, but I shook my head to way her off. I know Mom would know what to do, but it isn't my place to tell her what is going on.

I hear Willow's breathing even out and realize that she has fallen asleep. I picked her up and laid us both down on the bed, so we would be more comfortable. I just hope I can get Willow to talk to either Mom or Tara so I won't have to lie for the next four days. I ended up watching her sleep while I ran my fingers through her hair.

I don't know how long she had been sleeping, but when she woke, she gave me one of her famous smiles. I was about to ask if she was hungry, but her stomach answered for her. I offered her my hand as I climbed off the bed. As we got to the door, she stopped.

"Buffy, I think I need to tell your mom. I'd rather wait, but with us staying here, she is liable to pick up the signs, and I would like it if you were there when I did," Willow said smiling nervously.

"Whatever you need," I said bringing her hand up to kiss it. I ended up blushing after realizing what I had just done.

Willow just smiled at me as we walked downstairs holding hands. I make eye contact with Tara and mouthed to her to keep Dawn busy. Mom wasn't in the dining room, so I guess she is still in the kitchen. When we walked in, she was finishing up the dishes. She smiled when she first turned around, but went to concern as she saw Willow's face.

"Girls, is something wrong?" Mom asked drying her hands.

"Mom, Willow has something she wants to tell you, and I would like you to hear her out before responding okay?" I asked as Mom nodded as we sat down at the kitchen table.

"Joyce, I want to first thank you for being a second mother to me since you moved here. That is why I need to tell you something that I need motherly advice on. As I told Buffy upstairs just before we came down, I don't want to hide the fact that I'm pregnant and could use some guidance because I'm really scared," Willow explained as she squeezed my hand a little tighter.

Mom just got up and came over wrapping us both up in a hug. Willow started to cry again as I wrapped my arms around her. I just hope this means that Mom isn't going to cause Willow any more pain. After releasing the hug, she took us both outside probably in case Dawn got thirsty. We sat down on the bench as Mom brought a chair over and sat in front of us.

"Willow, you're right about you being like a daughter to me. When we first came here, you and Xander found out about both of Buffy's secrets and accepted her without any problem, and since then, I have gained a few more kids, and by the looks of things, I have another in Tara. Anyway, I know that your parents are out of town a lot, and since you are an adult, they don't have much say to what you do with your life. So whatever you need from me, just ask, okay" Mom said smiling wiping a tear that was on Willow's cheek.

"What's everyone doing out here, and why have you been crying?" Dawn asked popping out the door quickly followed behind by Tara who mouthed sorry as I shrugged my shoulders. I looked at Willow, and she nodded as I headed inside to call an impromtu Scooby meeting. I figure if Tara and Dawn are going to know, might as well tell everyone at the same time.

After finishing up with Giles, everybody congregated in the living room to await the gang. I came in and kissed Mom on the cheek telling her that I was going to grab Faith before the guys got here. I know she doesn't live here, but I think Willow will be happy that she won't have to make a call to LA to inform them. I also let her know where I was going before leaving.
