Chapter 12

[reviews]

Ok sorry, some personal problems got in the way and I didn't want to mess up the story with my problems. Here you go, just the way you like it!

Willow knew what she was doing. Saving her family. Knowing full well that she could only get the three of them to where the gang was without getting pulled in. She didn't want to push her magical limits too far. If she did the aftermath and pull would be great. As it were she had used too much magic with the wall, she was sure to have the pains.

Using her ability she got them out of danger and said a few words before she stopped the use of her magic. Waiting downstairs for the men she knew were coming. Sure enough she was quickly surrounded by men with guns. One man cuffed her hands and forced her up the stairs, pushing her to sit on the couch.

Looking up she saw the man she used to think of as her father. Now she saw a monster. "What do you want with me," her voice cold and hard. Her stare shook some men in the room. Giles himself felt some fear but would not let that stop him from his work.

"My dear, we must protect this world. I have known you for quite sometime now and have seen your abuse of magic. I do not believe you are over the dark arts. And as you know, the council extinguishes such existences." He stood there before her. Firm in his belief, Travelers stood not far beside him.

"Your daughter on the other hand," Travelers broke in, "could have been made from this dark matter. She will soon be in our custody and we will learn further. You are now ours, and we will see how evil you truly are." Pulling a case out of his jacket he produced a needle. Jabbing the sharp instrument into her leg he let the substance enter her body.

'Keep her safe Buffy,' was her last thought as darkness took over.

The gang had an easy enough time finding the place. It was a bit out in the middle of nowhere but his directions where right on the mark. Far enough out that it was hard to spot, but close enough to town incase anything was needed. The place was rather large. Ten bedrooms each having their own private bathroom, good size living area, kitchen with everything you could think of having in it, there was even a pool out back.

Everyone quickly found a room, doubling up for the sake of safety. Pulling her phone out again she quickly hit redial to get in touch with Angel. "We made it. How are things on your end?"

"Good, called some of the girls and they are making sure to go down the tree. The ones close by are on their way there so it might get a bit crowded, but much safer for all of you. If you need anything Buffy you know I'm here for you." He knew she wasn't in the mood to talk, but wanted to make sure she knew he was there for her.

"Thanks Angel, it really means a lot. What you're doing for us." She was so tired and lost that when Angel was right there to help it meant so much to her.

"Buffy you guys mean the world to me. I'd do anything for you, all of you." And he meant every word. "I can't leave here, but I am going to send a few 'friends' to stay some place close, to keep an eye out."

She knew what that meant. These 'friends' were not on the human variety and a warning so she wouldn't go and clobber someone on their side. "Got it." Hanging up the phone she sat back on the couch. Closing her eyes she tried to relax for a minute before getting the house ready for all the girls and begin to work on the security.

Dylan was not having an easy time with this. Her mother was gone and she had never been away from her mother for any real length of time. Walking into the living room she continued her search for the woman who had been caring for her. "Dylan, come back here." Dawn was trying to keep the kid out of her sisters' way, knowing how hard it was on her and trying to do her part to help.

Buffy opened her eyes to see Dylan standing there. Her eyes. They held so much pain and such confusion. "It's ok." Dylan slowly walked towards her, she didn't feel safe. She wanted to feel safe.

Seeing the apprehension in her movements the slayer smiled and opened her arms to the toddler. Dylan then ran into them, hiding her face in the crock of the woman's neck. "It's ok Dylan. I've got you." Wrapping strong, safe arms around her she stood.

Walking into their room she took notice of a few toys and books that Angel must have provided them with. Walking over she knelt before them. Dylan moved her head to see where they were and saw the new toys. Curious, the redhead slowly let go and turned to sit in Buffy's lap.

The two sat there playing for awhile, Dylan still in Buffy's lap as she tried several toys. Smiling and laughing for awhile before Dylan found a stuffed animal she liked. It was a puppy dog. Holding it close she began to pet it. "What's your doggies name Dylan?"

The dog resembled a yellow lab and was very soft to the touch. "Cuddles," she spoke without slowing her petting.

"What a very good name." Dylan gave a bright smile to the blond as she then hugged the dog to her chest. "Are you hungry?" Giving a small nod, Buffy picked up the girl and dog. Walking in the kitchen she found her mother and sister all ready working on dinner.

"Should be ready in a few minutes dear," Joyce was in the middle of mixing a few things as she informed her eldest. Dawn was arranging plates and food on the large table.

Moving around, she found a booster just for the small girl beside the table. Setting it on the chair next to hers she made sure it wouldn't slip. Placing Dylan on the chair she looked at the dog still in her hands. "Puppies aren't allowed at the table, can I put him in the living room?" Using a soft voice she smiled at her.

Handing over her puppy she gave a small frown. Buffy took the stuffed animal and walked a few feet away, setting the dog on the edge of the couch so Dylan could still watch over him. "There, can you still see him?" Buffy received a small smile and a nod.

Returning to the table she sat next to Dylan as the rest of the gang sat down at the table. Each eating and talking until there was nothing left to do but head to their rooms. Letting Dylan down she watched as the girl ran to the couch to pick up the dog. Holding her hand out she waited for the girl to grasp hers.

Opening a dresser drawer she found some clean clothes, pulling out some pj's for both girls they got ready for bed. Buffy was exhausted as she climbed into bed, quickly feeling the small body of the child lightly against hers. Pulling her close she kissed the top of her red head before both fell asleep.

The next morning Buffy noticed a few more girls at the table for breakfast. After a brief introduction the gang ate and the slayers moved into the living room, while the rest went about preparing the house for more girls.

As the two head slayers and three new girls sat and talked about preparations, Dylan peeked her head around the corner. There were too many people for Dylan's comfort. The young girl had been finding a bit of peace in the oldest slayers company. With the number of people around she was frightened. The gang from Sunnydale was still scary to her, but not as much since she had spent some time with each person. No one though calmed her down nearly as much as Buffy did.

She had been keeping her senses on the tiny redhead. As soon as she had come into view she nodded towards the girl. Carefully she walked into the room and around everyone to reach her target. The conversation between the women continued as Buffy picked Dylan up.

Everyone noticed the new member enter the group. Each realizing that it was Willow's child in the eldest slayers arms. There was absolutely no way this child was getting into the councils hands. The knowledge of the girls mother in their hands only made each ones anger and rage towards them that much higher.

The girls had the plan laid out and ready. The three girls who had arrived each had a job assigned to them, everyone preparing for the girls to come. Getting up they went to do their tasks. Buffy and Faith sat there, nothing but silence between the two. Little Dylan becoming at ease once again.

"Well the girls should be gone for some time, getting all the supplies. I've checked the armory in the basement. There's enough there for twice as many girls. Tara is working on the magic bracelets and a few other spells. Dawn is helping her. Xander and Anya are getting the rooms ready." Faith was getting nervous, which was a first for her.

Buffy held Dylan in her lap, enjoying the comfort the small girl gave her. "It's ok Faith," looking up into troubled brown eyes. "I know you're worried, honestly, I am too." Taking another breathe and letting it out before continuing. "These men have no hearts, God only knows what they are doing to Willow at this very moment. What they would do to Dylan if they got their hands on her. What they have done to slayers in the past."

The two knew what these men have done. Giles was once on their side and told them, hell they had been through such horrible events together. There was no way anyone else was to be hurt by such men again. Too many lives had ended by their hands. There was not going to be another.

She woke in a dark room, cold concrete below her. Opening herself up she began to feel around with her magic. Only problem was that the room appeared to be resistant to magic. Quickly, panic set in. Using a few mediation techniques she calmed herself down. She had more power than just spells. She was more powerful than they knew and if she had to, she would use it against them.

Metal keys opening a lock got her attention, the squeaking of the rusty hinges followed by several figures. "Morning," his British accent echoing in the room. "Get her," ordering a few of his thugs into the room. Quickly they grabbed her and began beating her to the ground, using their fists and strength against her small frame. Picking her up by her arms they dragged her before him.

Blood quickly running out of the cuts they had made, both had worn rings for that effect. Smiling at the girl he led the way down the hall. It wasn't long until he ushered them into another concrete room. Nodding towards the chair in the center the men went about strapping her into it.

Once done they stepped back on either side of the chair. Awaiting orders. Travelers looked her over. With the fresh wounds on her body, and more to come, he smiled. "Now, I know you are a powerful witch. That's a given. What we are here to do one of two things. Either rid you of such power or use your power on our side." Lifting a small circular object from a small wooden box he walked back over to her. "We both know you aren't going to agree to either. Therefore I will simply take your powers by force."

Placing the ball in one hand he held it up over her body. "Now this may sting." An evil smile covered his features as he began.

Willow felt as if a piece of her was being pulled out from ever fiber of her being. It was slow and agonizing. Clenching her muscles she refused the cry that wanted to ring from her body.

"That's it my dear. Fight it. It only means you are in for many more seasons." The once clear ball was now turning into a bright red. "That's it girl, feel the power leaving your body." An hour later he stopped. The crystal taking all it could he placed it back into the wooden box. Its color having remained red with her power sealed inside.

"Take her away." Still staring at the red object as the two dragged her away. "I will take great pleasure from this." Closing the box he left the room.

Throwing her back into her cell they closed and locked the door although it wouldn't have mattered much, Willow lay there too broken to move. Never before had she felt such physical pain. Curling up she wept for everything. Maybe she wasn't as strong as she thought she was.
