Chapter Three

[reviews]

As the french doors came into view Buffy felt her heart rate increase."Steady Summers." She said to herself as she lifted her hand to knock on the glass. She only waited maybe two and a half seconds before the door opened before her and there was her best friend standing there, a cigarette in her hand and dressed in pajamas. A smile graced the redheads lips as she took in the bored looking blonde before her. She stepped back and let Buffy enter her room.

"So, hi." Buffy said as she walked over to the redhead's bed, and watched as Willow put out her cigarette. Both of the redhead's parents smoked so they didn't see it as being at all unusual when she took up the habit.

Willow sat down across from her in her computer chair. "Hi." She replied.

"Uhm, listen, about earlier," Buffy started off.

"Buff, don't. I kissed you. I get it if you don't like me like that... I mean... It just seemed for some reason like the right thing to do." Willow said cutting the blonde off before she even got to finish her sentence.

Buffy walked up to her and looked down at the redhead before bringing their lips crashing down together for the second time that night. She brought Willow with her as she resumed her spot on the bed, never once breaking the kiss until Willow pulled back. "That was...wow." The redhead said as she stared at Buffy.

"I'll say." Buffy replied, she gripped Willows hand in hers and looked at the redhead. "Uhm, this may seem a little bit forward of me, or it may not considering, but would you uhm...would you be my girlfriend?"

Willow answered by leaning in and kissing the blonde again. This time Buffy let Willow dictate the kiss, letting herself be softly pushed back down to where she was laying on the bed and Willows body was astride her own.

"I'll take that as a yes." Buffy said in between kisses.

By the time that Buffy made it home that night, it was nearly three in the morning, and her clothes looked more than just a little bit messed up. She sighed as she climbed into her bed. It had been a long day, and she was more than just a little bit curious as to exactly what was happening between her watcher and her mother. She'd have to talk to them both tomorrow, assuming that they weren't busy with eachother. Thoughts of the two grown ups plaged her thoughts as she drifted off to sleep for the less than four hours that she had before it was time for her to wake up for school again.

She drempt of her girlfriend and woke up feeling more than just a little bit wanting. The slayer climbed into a cold shower before getting dressed and heading downstairs. Joyce was waiting in the kitchen.

"I see you woke up earleir than usual." She said in a clipped tone. Buffy just nodded numbly and sat at the stool after grabbing a glass of orange juice.

"Mom, listen, about yesterday, I know that my announcement was probably not all THAT well timed, but ...well, thats about all I have to say." The younger Summer's said to her mother as she took a sip of the o.j.

"Well, youre not wrong about that. Then again, I suppose either Rupert or myself could have told you about our...erm, blooming relationship?" Joyce asked, her tone softened noticibly from when her daughter had first appeared in the room.

Buffy raised her eyebrows at Joyce's choice of wording and watched her mother as she puttered around the kitchen.

"So, how long have you been 'gay'?" Joyce asked, using little bunny ears around the word gay. Buffy just shrugged of the air quotes and looked at her mom.

"I've been uhm 'gay' since we were back in L.A." Buffy said, using the exactly same quotations but in a sarcastic way.

"Oh." Was all that Joyce said.

"And you and Giles?" Buffy asked. She was getting a little bit upset that she was mature enough to take her mother and Giles' relationship seriously, when her mother seemed not to be mature enough to accept the fact that her daughter was really gay.

"Well, its relatively new..." Joyce let it trail off.

"Relatively new as in...?" Buffy asked.

"Last night?" Joyce asked back.

"Okay...thats cool.... I can deal with that. Just so you know, Willow may be spending the night tonight." Buffy answered breezily as she stood up and left her mother gaping after her and made her way to her girlfriend's house.

She knocked on the french doors before pushing them open slightly. There was Willow, laying in bed curled up. Buffy glanced quickly at the clock. It was nearly seven, and nearly time for the redhead to get up. "Wakey wakey." Buffy said as she leaned down and kissed the sleeping redhead, "It's time to face the day."
