Chapter Two

It was nearing dinner time as the gang finished up on the fourth cemetary. Buffy and Willow were walking a bit ahead, hand in hand, and Faith and Xander had dropped back some. "So, are they an item?" Faith asked gesturing towards the blonde and redhead. The tone in her voice and the arch of her eyebrow made Xander think for just one moment that Faith thought it actually might be hot if the two of them hooked up. He shook his head. That was the last thing he needed, a girl who was into watching other girls.

"No. At least, not to my knowledge." He said with a slight grimance. Just the thought of imagining his two best girly friends together was making him feel like it was a little bit hot outside. He quickly subdued such thoughts (and urges) as he realized that both Buffy and Willow were waiting for them at the cemetary gates.

"I was thinking that some food is in order." Buffy said with a slight smile. She was answered by Xander's stomach which seemed to grow a mouth of its own as it growled in response.

"I think that I second that motion." Xander piped up.

"I'm in, I could really go for something other than fast food ya kno?" Faith asked with a swagger in her hips and a smirk across her lips.

"Well, I'm sure that Mom is making something good to eat, lets stop by there." Buffy answered with a shrug. Willow nodded her assent and off they went to la casa de Summers.

"So B, where does your mom think you are all the time?" Faith asked as she positioned herself right next to the blonde's open side.

"Oh, here and there ya know? Most of the time she thinks I'm-" Buffy cut herself off as she dropped the redhead's hand and slammed her own palm against her forehead. "Shit! I completely forgot to tell Giles to call Mom and let her know that I was gonna be late from school!"

"Relax Buff, it'll be fine." Xander said as he looped his arms around both Buffy and Willow, positioning himself between the two girls. "She would never dream of yelling at you with us there." He nodded his head as if affirming his own opinion.

"Yeah, sure." Buffy replied, already flashing forward in time to an hour long session of nagging she was sure would be coming her way. They continued their walk with a bit of idle chat here and there. And before long they arrived at 1630 Ravello Dr. "Home sweet home." Buffy said softly as if she was almost afraid to open the door.

It didnt take long once the teens were all in the room to quickly realize three things. Number One: Giles and Joyce were both in the living room. Number Two: Neither of them were yelling, on the contrary they both seemed eerily un-upset. And Number Three: They were playing "tonsil hockey." With eachother.

"Ewww, Mom, Giles, get a room!" Buffy said as she shielded her eyes as if from an onslaught of bright light.

The two adults jerked apart. "Erm, Buffy, there's a perfectly logical explan-" Giles started out.

"You were just playing tonsil hockey with my mom Giles! What kind of explanation can there be for that??" Buffy asked a bit of terror in her voice.

"Honey, now calm down." Joyce said as she put her hand on Buffy's arm in what was supposed to be a calming gesture.

"No, if you two are gonna play tonsil hockey. I have an announcement." Buffy said with a note of steel in her voice that none of them seemed to have heard before. "I'm gay." She said it loud, and only said it once. Her eyes challenged anyone who was willing to confront her on the subject she had been hiding for so long.

She felt a hand grasp her's and before she knew what was happening, had been pulled into a kiss.

Needless to say everyone in the room watched with wide eyes and jaws that had nearly dropped down to the floor. When the two girls pulled apart Xander gaped at them. "What do you mean youre gay?" He asked, completely disreguarding the other girl. His focus rested souly on the blonde. "I refuse to believe it...."

"Well, believe it or not Xand, that doesnt change the fact that it's real." She paused before turning to the other girl. "By the way, what the hell was that?"

The girl just stared at the blonde and without saying a word left the room.

"I think that I just lost my appetite." Xander said as he stormed out after her.

From there the night had done nothing but head in a downward spiral until Buffy had snuck out to go patrol. She didnt know who she could turn to with this new discovery. She was gay, and someone actually liked her.... She sighed as she twirled her stake and looked for a vampire or two to take her aggression out on. "Come out come out wherever you are." She sing-songed.

Behind her, about sixty feet away and just out of slayer hearing range. A cigarette flew down to the ground. "Oh dont worry, I'll come out to play soon enough." The figure said before retreating into the shadow.

A/N: notice what I did there? Who'd she kiss? do you know... cuz I do, haha, just kidding. Okay, let me know what you think. Or if I should stop while I'm ahead- L.
