Remember Me?

[reviews]

The very first thing that became apparent to the blonde was a sense of peace. After that it didn't take long for her to realize that not only was this sense of peace wrong for her life, but she was also not alone in her bed. 'Oh god, what happened last night?' She wondered absently. It wouldn't be the first time for the twenty-two year old to have wondered that either.

She rolled over slowly, almost afraid of who she would find lying next to her. And was instantly flooded with a sense of relief. Well, almost. Laying next to her was a slender girl with auburn hair. Although she didn't remember the girl, she was certain that given enough time her memory of the night before (and possibly the months before that) would come back to her. And so she slid out of bed as quietly as she could, grabbed a robe, and went to sit in her computer chair. She studied the outlines and features of the girl, nearly memorizing them, and yet still nothing came to her mind.

Out of no where the auburn haired girl sat up and rubbed some sleep out of her eyes. "Baby, what're you doin' ova there?" She asked in a tired voice.

The blonde's eyes popped open even wider than they had been before. 'Baby?' Her mind asked. Who would call her that? Maybe someone she was dating? A good friend? Thousands of possibilities ran through her mind as to what her relationship was with this auburn haired girl. She tried to remember things about herself. What was her name? How old was she? Was she even a she?! She reached down, quickly patted down her chest and sighed in relief. She was a she. Well, at least she knew that much. All of this and even more ran through her mind as she stared. "Come back to bed." The girl said before she laid back down and closed her eyes.

Where did she live? Heck, what language was she even speaking? All of these, and even more elusive thoughts flooded her mind. And so she sat there in her computer chair (at least hopefully it was hers) until the sun came up and the auburn haired girl rose.

She was still staring at the spot where the girl had rested even though she had left more than ten minutes ago, saying she was going to take a shower. She had left the room and had not returned, and if she was honest with herself then she could safely say that exploring wasn't on the top of her 'to-do' list at the moment. She blinked quickly as the door opened and the auburn haired girl walked briskly into the room, going over and pulling the shades back to letthe sun stream in.

"Buffy, come on, we have to go if we're going to make it to Dawn's graduation on time. And we still have to get Lyssa and Jillian up." She said in a slightly annoyed voice. But she had every right to be annoyed. Her wife had gotten out of bed in the middle of the night and sat in the computer chair just staring at her, and then hadn't joined her in the shower like she usually did. And she still hadn't changed. They had three hours to get to Oxford the campus before the ceremony began and she was still in her pajamas.

"Who are you?" The blonde finally asked with a look of utter confusion marring her pretty features.

"What are you talking about? It's me... Willow? Your wife..." The girl trailed off.

"Wait, WIFE??" she asked. "I'm gay? And I'm married? When did this happen, where was I???" Astonishment laced her tone.

"Buffy, are you okay?" Willow asked as she studied the blonde more carefully.

"My name is Buffy? My god, what a horrible name! Who the hell named me that?? And who are Lyssa and Jillian?" She asked in a slightly more calm voice.

Just then a five year old girl ran into the room wearing a princess night gown and bouncing around like crazy. "Mom, Lyssa wont get out of bed. I tried and tried like you said, but she just wont budge." She said, her voice taking on a higher pitch towards the end of the sentence as she stood there firmly with her hands on her hips. Willow didn't respond, and it took Buffy a moment to realize that the girl was speaking to her. 'Mom' echoed in her mind. She thought about this for a minute. She could either scare the crap out of a five year old girl, or just play along like she knew what she was talking about.

"Dont worry, I'll get the tickle monster after her." She said as she stood up and made tickling motions with her hands and the little girl shrieked and ran out of the room. "You and I need to talk." She said coldly to Willow.

She chased the little red headed girl with blue eyes down the hall and into a room that had two beds in it, and in the other bed was a girl who Buffy assumed was Lyssa. "C'mon Lyssa, you better get up before the tickle monster gets you!" She shouted as she jumped onto the end of the bed and started tickling the little girl mercilessly.

"Mom quit it! Quit it! I'm up!" She screamed as she rolled away from her mother. Buffy took in the two girls before her. They looked like identical twins except for their hair color and the blonde had hazel eyes instead of blue. "Now, you girls get ready, your mother says we have to be at the graduation in less than three hours." She said as she tousled both of the girls hair before walking out of the room and back down the hall.

"Baby, what's going on?" Willow asked as soon as she walked into the room.

"See, that's the thing. I don't know." Willow looked at her confused. "Anything," Buffy continued. "I don't know anything, who you are, who I am, who those adorable kids are. None of it rings a bell..." She said as she avoided looking at the redhead's piercing gaze.

"I'm Willow, your wife.... and those kids are ours. Did you hit your head last night on patrol or something?" Willow asked, concern lacing her voice. Buffy was about to answer when the redhead held up her hand. "No, wait, don't answer that, you don't remember do you?"

Buffy shook her head no. Willow looked down at her watch. "Girls, we're leaving in ten minutes!" She hollered down the hallway to the kids as she shut the bedroom door. "C'mon, I'll try and explain our lives on the way, but first we both really really have to get dressed for Dawn's graduation."

"And Dawn is...?" Buffy asked as she walked towards the closet with her wife.

"Your little sister. Here wear this." Willow said as she thrust an outfit towards the blonde. Who surprisingly enough actually caught it. Well surprisingly to her anyway. She turned around and changed quickly, missing the slightly sad look that graced the redhead's features. Once she was
finished the two left their room and headed towards the living room. "Time to go!" Willow said as the two girls seemed to magically appear in front of them. Buffy walked towards what looked like a front door and grabbed the handle to open it. Overhead an alarm went off and the two girls clapped their hands over their ears. Willow waved her hands in the air and said something Buffy couldn't make out and the noise stopped, she looked at the redhead with a question on her face. "Later." Willow said as she walked towards the door. Buffy pulled it the rest of the way open and was hit with a memory.

The two of them walked through the door and into their new house. Each had a baby in a carseat in one arm, and were grasping the others hand. "We're home, finally." Willow said as she breathed a sigh of relief and went to go and remove Lyssa from her carseat.

"Do you think they'll like it?" Buffy asked as she did the same for Jillian.

Willow looked around before she answered. They had never seen the place in person, only through photographs online. "Hon, I think they'll love it." Willow picked up Lyssa and walked over to her wife. "I love you." She said as she leaned in and kissed the blonde.

"I love you too." Buffy said after the kiss.

The three girls had already walked out and Buffy was left standing there. "Yup," She said to herself, "Definently gay."
