Remember Me?

by Lost

Chapter Two

[reviews]

She followed the three girls out to a small SUV and walked over to the passenger side. There she waited for Willow to unlock the door. They all got in, and buckled up. "Alright girls, have you got your passports?" Willow asked and looked into the rearview mirror expectantly. They both nodded and held up the small booklets. "Okay, then lets go." After twenty minutes they were parked at an airport, and Buffy had started to wonder exactly where it was that Dawn went to school. Another two hours and they were boarded on an transatlantic flight headed, evidently, towards England.

"Uhm, hon, where does Dawn go to school?" Buffy asked her wife as quietly as she could manage. Both little girls looked at her in confusion.

"Oxford. That's where the Giles' come from." Jillian said, nodding as if this was the most simple statement in the world.

"The 'Giles''?" Buffy asked, her pretty features scrunched up in question.

"Girls, why don't you let me and your mom talk for a minute, listen to your music." Willow said as she handed both little girls compact mp3 players. "Okay, so I wake up this morning, and you dont know who I am, or who our kids are..." Willow says, sighing. "I'm gonna take a guess and say you have no idea who you are either?" Willow asked and watched the blonde for a minute.

"Well...I'm Buffy...uhm, wait, what's my last name?" She asked.

Willow squinted her eyes shut in aggrivation. This was gonna be a long flight. "Okay, Youre Buffy Anne Summers-Rosenburg. Buffy is short for Elizabeth." Willow looked at her. Was this really her wife sitting in front of her? The usually confident blonde seemed to nearly shrink in on herself, and there was barely any trace of the woman she had fallen in love with. "We met when we were sixteen, I was sitting on a park bench in Sunnydale Highschool." Willow went on to explain the story of how, not only had they met, but fallen in love throughout the two remaining years of their highschool. She stopped when she got to their graduation, and looked down for a minute. "You wanted me to go to a different school, a safer school." She grabbed Buffy's hand and the blonde was instantly hit with a memory.

"Will, there are safer school's, there are safer prisons!" She said as she lay on the grass next to the redhead.

"Buffy, although, dont get me wrong, I am fond of you, this isn't about you. It's a good fight, and I want in." Willow said as she looked expectantly at the blonde.

Buffy rolled tackled Willow in a hug. "You know, I kind of love you."

And she was back on the airplane. "Okay, I get that.... but what did I mean a safer school?" Buffy asked.

Willow looked at her, unsure of whether or not she should continue this story, and tell Buffy the truth of the reason as to why it was that she had even shown up at highschool. She decided right then and there that the best policy would be honesty.

"You meant safer...as in, now don't freak out on me here, vampires. That's sort of why you came to Sunnydale to begin with." Willow answered her hesitantly. Although honesty may be the best policy she was slightly worried about the blonde slayer's reaction, in public anyway.

"Vampires? Youre joking right?" Buffy asked, looking at the redhead like she was crazy.

"No Buffy, youre the slayer."

"Into each generation a slayer is born, one girl in all the world with the power to-" She cut off the stuffy looking british man and continued.

"To fight back the forces of darkness and stop the spread of their evil blah blah blah. Ive heard it okay?" She asked him sarcastically.

"Im afraid I dont understand, youve slayed vampires before..." he trailed off.

"Yes, and Ive both been there and done that. Here's an idea, how bout you slay them?" She asked.

"But I'm I'm a watcher, I haven't the skill,"

"Oh come on, a stake through the heart a little sunlight, its like falling off a log!" She nearly yelled at him.

"I merely-"

"Watch?" She cut him off again.

"Yes, no, I train and prepare the slayer-"

"Prepare me for what? For getting kicked out of school? For losing all of my friends? For having to risk my life ever night and never being able to tell anyone what I'm doing becausze it might endanger them? Go ahead, Prepare me!" He just stared at her.

"Okay, first, I am a slayer, secondly I'm retired." She said before she walked out of the library. He was following her, she knew it. Could feel it.

She opened her eyes to find Willow asleep beside her, their fingers laced. 'This just keeps getting wierder and wierded...' she thought as she tried to remember yesterday or the day before even. Something that was more recent than nine years ago. But nothing came to mind. She sighed in frustration, and looked at the two small girls across from her, both of them were sleeping and had on little wings clipped to the front of their shirts. She closed her eyes and let herself drift off to sleep.

Before her Willow was laying on her bed, crying and sobbing, and a dark haired boy was there next to her, seemingly trying to console her as a blonde paced the room. She reached up and felt her own tear streaked face before she grabbed the redhead up into a hug. She wondered breifly why she was crying and then it hit her like a ton of bricks. Willow's parents had been killed in a plane crash. Or at least were assumed dead. Their bodies had not been recovered as the plan had gone down somewhere in the pacific ocean.

"Buffy, how can you say it'll be okay? Your mom is still alive!" Willow said scornfully. It was the first year in college, and now Willow had the added stress of losing not one but both parents.

She stood up and turned away from the redhead. She wrapped her arms around herself, preparing herself mentally for the fact that Willow was hurt, and probably lashing out at anyone who got close.

"Come on Will... I know Mrs. S. is still alive, but thats no reason to snap at B." A brunette said from accross the room. Buffy stared at her in amazement.

"Faith, it's okay." Buffy said and instantly knew that the brunette was a slayer like herself. Willow was still crying, laying on her bed. She hadn't been that close with her parents, everyone knew that. But if she had needed to turn to someone for help she had always had a cell number that they could be reached at. Now that was gone. Her connection with her whole family, had been ripped away.

The scene changed and swirled as it took shape before her. There was a woman with curly blonde hair, and the british man from earlier. Only this time he looked much less stuffy.

"Now you listen to me, I'm your watcher and you have to do what I say!" He hollered, poking his finger at her. She stared at him for a moment before he too began to swirl away.

Then there was a girl with straight blonde hair, staring at her. "YOu think you know, what you are, what's to come, but it's only just begun." She said as she walked out of a room, and into the waiting arms of Faith, who was holding a little baby in her arms. The baby giggled and cooed, and Faith looked up at her.

"Take good care of her B, don't let anything hurt her. She's you." She said as she handed the child to Buffy, and turned walking off. And when Buffy looked down it was into dark brown eyes, and a tuft of brown hair. She glanced to her left, and there she was as a child.

"I could help her you know, I could help take care of her." She was saying to who she assumed was her mother as she sat at the coloring table.

And then there was the baby, fully grown and standing next to the younger version of Buffy. "You did a great job big sis'. Thanks alot." She said.

Buffy woke up with a jerk as the captain announced overhead that they were landing. Willow looked at her. "You sleep okay?" She asked concern written on her face.

"Yeah, I just had some wierd dreams." She said, but even as the words came out of her mouth, the images from her dream began to dissappear in her mind. She could only remember bits and pieces. She rubbed her temples, quickly letting go of Willow's hand, only to be struck again.

*****************************************************************

"Buffy your hands, what happened to your hands?" Willow asked as she came forward, trying to grab at the bandaged digits. Buffy jerked back.

"Dont - touch - me." She managed to spit out before she turned sideways to run back upstairs and into her room. She caught a glimpse of heself in the mirror. Her hair was wild, and the dress she wore was a plain and simple black one. She shuddered as she heard Willow bang on her door, begging for entrance. She just wanted to go back. To go back to heaven.

******************************************************************

"Are you okay?" Willow asked, shaking her shoulder a bit.

"I dont know...Its like... I keep remembering things. And I can't stop them...." She trailed off and watched Willow stare at her in worry while she reached over and awoke the two sleeping girls. They left the plane, and there was the baby, all grown up with two arms full of Jillian and Lyssa.

"God, Buffy it's so good to see you." She said as she set the girls down and hugged the blonde. Who went rigid. "Buffy, you okay?" Dawn asked.

At that moment, the memory of the gift was flooding her. When she woke up, she was laying on the ground. "Somethings affecting her memory. We need to talk to Giles, I think its a spell." Willow said, and when Buffy opened her eyes, there were all four women, crowded around her.

"What happened?" She asked as she held her aching hand. Willow held out a hand to help her up, and Buffy, not knowing her own strength pulled on the extended hand, and instead of pulling herself up, pulled Willow down on top of her, sending a jolt of electricity through her body at the sudden contact. "Okay, so that didnt work." She said gazing at the redhead who now lay on top of her.

"Well obviously." The brunette, Dawn, said with her hands on her hips. She looked at the two girls. "What has gotten into your parents?"
