"So, what exactly did this thing look like?" Xander said flipping through a book, looking for pictures rather than actually trying to read it.
The scoobies, bar Faith, who was still asleep in Buffy and Willow's spare room, were gathered at Giles' house.
"Big, stoney, red eyes, big claws," she paused, "face like a smacked ass. Boy, it did NOT look happy."
"Huh," Xander held up the book and showed a picture of the demon, "this your guy?"
"That's him!" Willow said, grabbing the book, raising an eyebrow when she read the passage.
"What does it say, Will?" Buffy asked, not genuinly interested, but just wanting to see Will in cute, excited, 'we've found something!' research mode.
"He's called the 'meza a demonio'," she then wore a look of confusion and disappointment, "which basically means 'rock demon' in Spanish."
"Huh, they must have run out of good names by the time they got to that one," Xander quipped. "Don't worry, Will, happens to the best of them."
"It's not the name I'm confused about, Xand," she looked to Buffy, "why's it a Spanish demon?"
"It's probably just a name," Buffy suggested.
Willow shook her head.
"Most the demons we research... their names are originally in Latin right?"
"Right."
"So, if it's name is Spanish, then it must be a pretty recent type of demon," she explained. "Well, at least recent in terms of demon's, I mean the youngest it can be is just over 1,000."
"How's that relevant?" Giles asked, wondering where Willow was going with this.
"Well if demons were made at the beginning of time, along with the first slayer, then..."
"This one must have been made by humans," Giles finished for her.
"Exactly."
"So, we talking like an Adam kinda deal here or what?" Buffy asked.
"I'm not sure," Willow's brow furrowed, "I mean, Adam was made with the latest scientific technology, if this demon is 1.000 years old, then there's no way anyone could make him like Maggie Walsh and her team did."
There was a moment of silence.
"More research?" Buffy asked.
"Afraid so, sweetie," Willow said with a smile, squeezing Buffy's hand briefly before reaching for another book.
As the others got stuck into research, Buffy pulled Willow inbetween her legs and rested her chin on her shoulder, gently kissing her on the cheek.
"You not gonna research, too, Buff?" Willow asked.
"Nah, I'll just pick out the points you miss," she said with a cheeky smile.
Willow giggled a little, "sure, Buff."

Faith woke up feeling a little light-headed still.
"Damn, that bastard was strong!"
She sat up and swung her legs over the edge of the bed. She spotted a piece of paper on the bed side table, picked it up and read it.
Faith,
We're over at Giles' doing research on the rock demon guy.
If you want, come over and help, but if you're still not feeling good, go back to sleep, OK?

Faith smiled at the mini-rant that Willow made sound like babble, even through written word.

"Need a hand?" Faith said as she strolled in through the front door.
She turned into the living room to see Xander and Giles researching hard on one sofa and Buffy and Willow half-cuddling, half-researching.
"Hey, you feeling any better?" Willow asked concerned.
"Five by five," Faith said coolly, "so, what we looking for then?" She asked, sitting down and grabbing a book.
"Basically the weaknesses of the 'rock demon' or 'meza a demonio'," Buffy supplied.
"That's it;s name? The rock demon?" Faith raised an eye brow, "laaaaame."
She grabbed a book and began research with the rest of the gang.
"Oh! Got something!" Willow said, a couple of minutes later. "Oh! Apparently, they're not even 1,000, they were created in the early 1900s by the First... "
"The First can create demons?" Buffy asked, eyes wide.
"Could!" Willow supplied, "by the time we came to fight it, it had most of it's power drained from giving it to the demon's he made. I guess that's the only reason we defeated it. If it had all of its power still, we never would have won."
"But that doesn't make sense," Faith interjected, "if the First knew it would lose power, why make extra demons?"
"Because this way the earth would never be rid of demons," Willow explained, "this way, ultimately, it won... at least until we made all the potentials into slayers to kill them all. I don't think it saw that one coming."
Buffy smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Until *you* made all the potentials slayers," she said, "nice work, baby."
"Mmm, thanks," Willow said turning her head to kiss Buffy on the lips.
Faith turned her head sharply to avoid the sight of the happy couple, whereas Xander just stared, mouth half-open until Giles smacked him on the back of the head and told him to get on with his 'bloody research'.
