Chapter 5
Buffy rubbed Willow's back as she pouted outside of the school, while waiting for Xander.
"There goes my perfect record. I could have graduated without ever getting detention but now its ruined all thanks to Faith", she said with a pout that made Buffy smile.
"I'm sorry for getting you in trouble. I know you were only doing it to protect me", she said looking guilty which made Willow concerned.
"Don't be sorry, its what best friends are for?"
Buffy smiled at her word and then saw Willow looking puzzled. "What's wrong?"
"Oh", she said while shaking her head. "Nothing", she said and gave her a fake smile.
"Don't fake smile me. I'm your best friend I know when you are faking it."
Willow looked down as if trying to gather her thoughts. "It's just that since Faith arrived and seeing her trying to get you I don't know these feelings have surfaced and I don't know what they mean", she tried to explain.
Buffy instantly became alert as to where this was going. "What kinds of feeling?", she asked.
Willow locked eyes with Buffy. "Like-", she began but got cut off by Xander.
"Hello ladies ready for a day of detention", he said while nearing the pair. Instantly looked between the two feeling like he had interrupted something.
"No", Willow was the first to speak with a frown.
Buffy just let this grunt of frustration for Xander's wrong timing.
Xander confusing the grunt for having to go to detention pat her on the back. "Don't worry Buff soon we will be out of here."
Now it was Buffy's turn to pout.
Entering the detention room Faith was already there with her feet on the desk. "Well you guys finally showed up."
Winking at Buffy while she sat down. Willow look gave her a deadly stare that didn't go unnoticed by Faith.
The principal arrived shortly. "Well it seems like everyone is here", he said and faced the four.
"You know I expected this from you Summers but not you Miss Rosenberg, maybe you should consider choosing the people you hang out with more carefully. Well there is one rule only: Stay in this room for the next four hours. I will not assign you any homework because I frankly do not want to sit here and watch you do it. I'm going to the office to watch a movie. I will be back to check on you. If I see any unnecessary conduct it will consist of another Saturday detention. Do I make myself clear?"
All four nodded.
"Say yes Principal Snyder", he demanded.
All four of them looked at each other like he had gone crazy.
"Yes Principal Snyder", they all said.
"Good", he said before leaving the room and locking it.
"Gee you would think he would at least supply us with food", said Xander.
Faith smile seeing an opportunity with Buffy, quickly getting up from her spot she made her way around to sit next to Buffy.
"Did anyone ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes?", she asked Buffy.
Buffy smiled and blushed at her comment. Faith smiled at the effect she had on Buffy. Looking at Willow she saw a mad face while crossing her arms. "You ok over there red?"
Willow just looked at her with a mad face. Buffy saw this and decided not to indulge in having conversation with Faith which might lead to a confrontation.
Buffy went to sit next to Willow. Faith's smile faded.
The next few hours were a bored. Willow and Buffy playing tic-tac-toe and Xander trying to find the right word to say whenever he decided to tell Buffy how he truly felt.
Faith had her head thrown back bored out of her mind and still not understanding the deal with Willow and Buffy brushing her off to hang out with her. She new they were best friend but dam over protective much. Faith had never had a hard time getting a girl. Getting a brilliant idea she sat up.
"Lets play truth or dare", she announced.
The gang just stared at her. Willow not liking it, Buffy not much caring, and Xander seeming interested in it. "Ok", he said and got a quick look from Willow.
"I will go first", Faith announced. "Willow truth or dare", she asked.
"I'm not playing", she said.
"Oh come on red there is nothing better to do", Faith said seeming frustrated at Willow.
"Yeah Willow at least this way we can kill time", Xander said.
Willow looked at Xander then at Buffy.
"Come on what is it that you have to hide?", Faith asked Willow.
Willow looked at Buffy. "Fine I will play", she said.
Faith smiled. "Truth or dare", she asked.
"Truth", Willow mumbled.
"Are you a virgin?", she asked.
Both Buffy and Xander seemed interested with this answer wanting to know whether her and Tara had done the deed.
Willow looked shocked by the answer. "I don't have to answer", she said and crossed her arms.
"Still a virgin ha, what blondie hasn't given you any?", she said.
"How do you know about Tara?", Willow asked seeming alarmed.
"People told me and especially that one girl named Cordelia, once you get her started about you she doesn't stop. I bet she would give it up", she told her.
"I don't like Cordelia."
"So I'm right you are a virgin", she exclaimed.
"Its not about that with me and Tara. I love her", Willow explained with a smile on her face thinking about Tara. Just thinking of her made Willow miss her more and wishing she was here. Good thing she comes back tomorrow Willow thought.
Faith noticed the smile Willow had on her face while talking about Tara. Rolling her eyes she noticed Buffy with a frown. Faith wondered why Buffy was frowning.
"Is it my turn now?", Willow asked.
Faith pointed at her to go for it.
Willow turned to Xander. "Xander truth or dare?", she asked him.
"Truth", he answered.
Willow pondered for a while. "Do you masturbate?", she asked him.
Xander became alarmed with the question and feeling uncomfortable having three girls stare at him. Willow with a bemused smile, Buffy with a curious look and Faith with a sly grin.
"What?", he chocked out.
Faith smiled at the question she didn't think red had it in her. "She said do you masturbate. Its ok dude we all know you are a guy and probably do, we just want you to confirm it?"
"Hey I resent that", he said while pointing at the girls. "Just because I'm a guy doesn't mean I -", he tried to finish his sentence but saw the looks the girls where giving him. "Yes."
All three girls smiled at him.
"Ok fine", he said wanting to give the girls a taste of their own medicine. "Faith, truth or dare?"
"Truth", she said.
"Do you masturbate?", he asked her.
Willow and Buffy both turned around to gawk her reaction. But surprisingly she didn't seem shock by the question even wore a smile on her face. "Yes", she said without hesitation.
Xander slumped to his chair noticing he didn't get the pay back he was looking for.
"Doesn't surprise me", Willow whispered to herself.
"My turn again", said Faith with a devilish smile on her face. "Buffy truth or dare?"
"Dare", she said and knew that was the wrong choice once she saw the shinning on Faith's eyes.
"I dare you to kiss me", she said while leaning forward to get a better look at Buffy.
Willow instantly stood up from her chair. "That's it this game is over."
"What?!", Faith said with surprise and anger.
"Your just using this game to get Buffy to kiss you", she declared.
"B picked dare, so I can dare her to do anything", Faith smirked at Willow seeing the anger evident in her eyes.
"You cant dare someone to do something they don't want to", Willow challenged getting a little too loud.
"What makes you think she doesn't want to?", Faith stood up from her chair and looked Willow in the eye.
Willow gave a surprise look. Turning to Buffy she looked at her with a serious face, "Well do you Buffy?"
Buffy was taken back from Willow's reaction and Faith's question that it took her a while to answer back which didn't give Willow a good sign.
Xander was looking out the window. "You guys Snyder is coming back. Maybe we should cool down so we won't get another Saturday of detention."
Faith hopes were arise when Buffy didn't deny her claim. Maybe she still had hope left, she thought to herself.
Willow not hearing a response from Buffy angrily sat down. Willow had been going out of her way in order to protect Buffy and all along she wanted to be with Faith. She felt foolish and misused.
Buffy realized to late that she never answered the question and noticed the look on Willow's face. She was about to open her mouth when Snyder walked in.
Snyder walked in to see four distraught teenagers but to him that was nothing unusual. "I see everything is in order. You four can go home now but remember another stunt like that will get you a months worth of detention."
Willow was the first to walk out of the room with Buffy close behind and Xander leaving the two girls to deal with their differences. Faith knowing that right now she didn't have a chance at approaching Buffy decided to wait until Monday.
Willow walked super fast wanting to get home and listen to music in order to let out her frustrations. She knew that Buffy was right behind her but she paid little attention to her friend.
"Willow!", she tried calling out to her friend but the redhead just continued to walk towards her house. "Willow let me explain", she said with desperation.
Nearing her house she stopped in front of her house and stood their for a second. Willow knew that she was being unfair and that she hadn't given Buffy a moment to explain. Willow stepped away from the door and turned to Buffy. "If you wanted to be with Faith you should have told me. Instead of having me protect you from her."
"I don't want to be with her.", Buffy tried to explain. "I was just taken back from everything. The way you were acting took me off guard."
"What do you mean?"
"You just seemed overprotective. Not that it's a bad thing, just new." Buffy smiled at feeling this warmth wash over her knowing Willow liked protecting her.
"That's what best friends are for. I just couldn't stand having her trying to go out with you. You deserve someone better than Faith", she sneered her name. "I just feel she will end up breaking your heart."
"Oh really", Buffy said not knowing that Willow had these type of feelings. "So who do you think I deserve?", she asked.
"I don't know", Willow squinted her eyes as if trying to concentrate. "Someone who sees your true beauty", she said while looking up to look at Buffy. "Someone that is nice and smart", she continued but stopped when she heard Buffy laugh.
"You know", Buffy said with a smile. "It sound like your describing yourself", she finished with a serious tone.
Willow looked at Buffy with a serious face that it took Buffy by surprise the intensity that came from those eyes. Buffy felt like time had stopped. Then she saw Willow have the biggest smile she had ever worn. Buffy could only guess what this meant.
