Chapter 4

Buffy was worried she didn't hear from Willow last night or this morning and she had spent the first five minutes of lunch time trying to find the redhead. Buffy quickly searched the football field and saw Willow sitting on the bleachers by herself. Buffy was surprised because usually Tara was by her side.

"Where have you been I have been searching all over the place for you", she asked her best friend.

"Sorry", was all the reply Willow gave. Buffy instantly became concern knowing Willow so well she knew something was wrong.

"What's wrong?", she asked

"Oh Buffy", Willow began to cry and Buffy instantly wrapped her arms around her.
Buffy held her while she cried feeling that this is what she needed and not wanting to let go of her and savoring this moment forever in her mind. Buffy loved Willow and it pained her to see her hurt. Once Willow had calmed down she explained the whole situation to Buffy. Buffy was really irritated at what Cordelia had pulled, how dare she kiss her Willow. Well not really hers, but oh you know what I mean.

"I don't know what to do Buffy. What if Tara never wants to talk to me again. I love her", upon hearing those words Buffy struggled not to shred a few tears herself.

Willow wiped her tears away and stood up like getting an idea and looked hopefully towards Buffy. Buffy became alarm of the look the redhead wore.

"You could talk to her", she said.

Not really liking the idea but wanting to help her friend she just gave her a weak smile and said, "Ok"

Buffy slowly walked towards the cafeteria. Suddenly she felt a headache coming. She was on her way to convince the girl that took Willow from her to take her back when Buffy herself wanted to be with Willow. It was just too weird even for Buffy, dam headache.

Reaching her destination she inhaled. "We need to talk."

Buffy and Tara stood in the hallway. "Tara you need to forgive Willow she really loves you", it took all her will power to utter those last two words.

"I know but it hurts Buffy. I still love her too just thinking of her makes me feel so happy like I'm in heaven and her kisses-"

"That's ok I get the picture", Buffy interrupted her from continuing not knowing how much she could take.

"I don't know, what would you do Buffy?"

"Who me?"

"Yeah"

"What would I do if I had Willow and was madly in love with her and never picture being with anyone else but her, dreamed about her, imagined marrying her, and holding her in my arms", Buffy rambled on not noticing the weird look Tara was giving her.

"Yeah", Tara dragged out the word. "Would you forgive her?"

Buffy didn't even have to think about it and instantly gave a defeated expression. "Yes."

Willow looked at Buffy give a huge smile. "She forgives me."

Buffy gave her a weak nod. Willow launched herself to Buffy. "Oh thank you, thank you , thank you", she jumped up and down. Wanting nothing more than to see her girlfriend Willow ran to the cafeteria.

Buffy just watched her run and gave a unenthusiastic 'yay'.

Willow sadly looked at Tara load her last luggage into the back of her parents car. Pouting she looked at Tara. Tara just crossed her arms around her chest. "You know you're making it really hard to leave", she said.

Still pouting she gave her the puppy eyes. "Good", she said.

Tara just smiled and walked up to her holding her by the waist. "It's just for a week."

"Well it's going to feel like a lifetime", she whined.

Tara found it adorable. "I know the feeling."

"Remind me again why you are leaving", Willow said still not liking the fact that she was going to spend a week apart from Tara.

"Because my dad has to meet a very important man and he wants his family there with him for support", Tara explained.

"Right", Willow said with another pout.

"Grumble, Grumble", Tara said teasing the redhead.

Looking sad Willow continued. "And more grumbles."

Tara and Willow kissed.

"Alright you two it's only going to be a week", Mrs. Maclay said while putting her hands on Willow's shoulder.

"More like a lifetime", Willow whispered.

Willow still hanged on to Tara with dear life. "I'm going to miss you", she told her.

"I'm going to miss you too", Tara responded.

Mr and Mrs. Maclay just looked from afar with a smile on there face happy at the fact that there daughter was happy.

"Come honey or we are going to be late", Mr. Maclay said while getting in the car.

Tara and Willow shared another kiss and then Tara reluctantly pulled away and got into the car with a sad expression.

Mrs. Maclay rolled down her window. "Take care Willow we will be back and no time and I promise to let you girls stay out late the day we come back."

Willow slightly smiled at the news already looking forward to the day even more. Waving she watched her girlfriend take off. Tara turned around from her seat and waved back.

Willow stood there until she couldn't see the car anymore. Sighing she decided to go to the Bronze for a little cheer up.

Buffy waited inside the Bronze with Xander for Willow to arrive. She was just so happy to spend some alone time with her. The last month had been living hell for the blonde and to top it off she was still kicking herself for helping them get back together. That's what pained her the most, she wanted Willow to be happy but at the same time that happiness is keeping them apart. She doesn't know what to do because every time she is near the redhead she feels the words coming out of her mouth. The three words she had always wanted to tell her but she didn't want to break her and Tara up because that would devastate Willow.

Buffy didn't know what to do.

Xander battle with himself. Looking over at Buffy he knew that at this moment she was thinking of Willow. Xander wanted to tell Buffy how he felt but what if their friendship changes.

Xander slumped.

But what if she felt the same but just hasn't realized it.

Xander stood up straight.

But what if Buffy rejects him and wants nothing to do with him.

Xander slumps.

Rubbing his head he thinks 'too many what ifs'

Buffy looked over at Xander with a bewildered face. Buffy wondered why Xander kept on slumbering then standing up straight. Must be some kind of exercise she thought.

Cordelia walked pass their table with her crew.

"Can you believe her she thinks she owns the place?", Cordelia told her friends.

Buffy and Xander looked up from their table and starred at the direction she was looking at. In the dance floor stood a brunet with guys and girls surrounding her while she danced.

"Who is she?", asked Xander.

"The new girl", answered Cordelia. "Please I don't see what they see in her", she said with disgust. "All I have to say is she better stay away from Willow, she's mine"
Buffy rolled her eyes at Cordelia's comment. "She's not your", she told her.

"Oh what she's yours now", she shoot back.

Buffy sighed and took a sip from her drink. "No she's not mine either."

Cordelia just dismissed Buffy and continued to scowl the new girl.

Faith danced around the crowed not much caring for the attention. Faith hated moving here she was perfectly fine in Los Angeles until she got too wild and her parents moved to a more quiet town. Faith still couldn't believe that this was the only club in SunnyDale. Faith continued to dance when she noticed a certain blonde sitting at a table with a boy. Faith was glued to the floor, she had never seen such beauty.

All of a sudden SunnyDale had become really interesting.

Willow entered the Bronze and quickly noticed Buffy and Xander sitting on a near by table.

Buffy looked up and saw Willow coming towards them. Her face instantly shone. "Willow you made it"

"Yeah", she noticed the crowd around a certain person and frown, "what's with the crowed", she asked.

Buffy and Xander starred back towards the dance floor. "New girl", Xander explained. "Cordelia is already planning her demise."

Willow just chuckled and sat down. "So what's the what?"

Buffy beamed at knowing she had the whole week with Willow. "Well I was thinking", she began, "we could watch some old movies at my house then on Tuesday we can go watch that new flick", she continued.

Willow just listened to her with a smile knowing her friend was trying to keep her mind off of Tara and cheer her up. Willow noticed the new girl walking their way she didn't think much of it until she stopped right next to Buffy.

Buffy stopped talking when she noticed someone standing right next to her.

Faith just stood there not wanting to remove her eyes from this beautiful sight. "Hi I'm Faith", she extended her hand towards Buffy.

Buffy shook her hand. "Buffy."

Buffy looked away from Faith and continued to lay out the plan in front of Willow. "Then on Wednesday the three of us could have a picnic."

Willow wasn't paying attention to what Buffy was saying because all she could do was stare at Faith. Willow didn't like this girl for some reason. It seemed odd to her because usually she was a friendly person but something about her, something about the way she looked... at Buffy.

Faith wasn't going to go down that easy. "Want to dance?"

Buffy stopped talking again and saw the hand being extended . Buffy wanted to stay here and talk to Willow but she didn't want to be rude also it felt nice to be asked to dance.

Just as Buffy was going to offer the dance by taking Faith's hand Willow saw this and quickly intervened.

"Sorry ", she said and took Buffy's hand into her own. "She's dancing with me", she said and took Buffy onto the dance floor leaving both Faith and Xander confused.

Faith looked at Xander. "Are those two dating?"

Xander nodded no.

"Then what's the deal", Faith asked mad that she didn't get the chance to dance with Buffy.

"I don't know", Xander shrugged.

Buffy let herself be guided onto the dance floor. Buffy walked behind Willow confused as to what just happened. Once on the dance floor a slow song began to play and Willow looked confused as to what to do. Looking towards the table and seeing Faith there she pulled Buffy close and began to slow dance.

Buffy was startled at Willow's actions but none the less liked the affection. "What's going on Willow?"

"Saving you", she simply said.

"From what", Buffy asked.

"Faith, I saw the way she looked at you then how she was trying to come on to you, who does she think she is?"

Buffy noticed that Willow was quite angry at this.

"I know you didn't really want to dance with her, so I saved you", she explained to the blonde.

"Oh", was all Buffy said. For a second there she actually felt that Willow might had had feelings for her that's why she asked her to dance.

Willow focused her attention away from Faith onto Buffy and noticed the circumstances they were in. "You know from all the years we had known each other, we have never danced."

Buffy simply shrugged but she knew the true reason. Buffy never trusted herself with dancing with Willow because she felt like she was going to spill the beans on the spot.

"You're a really good dancer", Willow told Buffy.

Buffy blushed at the compliment. "Thank you, your not to bad yourself."

"Yeah Tara taught me", she said.

Buffy's face instantly fell at the mention of the blonde girl.

Faith watched while the duo danced and decided to leave. There's always tomorrow, the first day of school.

Buffy, Willow and Xander all sat around the water fountain during lunch. Xander kept on throwing skittles in the air and trying to catch them in his mouth. Faith just stood from afar and watched Buffy. Smiling she made her way towards the gang.

Buffy noticed Faith walking towards them and didn't know what to do. Buffy knew this girl liked her but her heart belonged to the redhead next to her and not even Faith could change that.

Buffy smiled remembering all the fun time they had been spending lately, since Tara isn't here.

Willow noticed Buffy smiling and starring at a certain direction. Looking towards the direction Buffy was starring at she saw Faith. It bothered her that Buffy was smiling at Faith and she didn't know why.

Faith sat next to Buffy as Willow and Xander watched on. Xander didn't like how this girl looked at Buffy and didn't want her stealing Buffy away even though he knew that Buffy's heart would never leave Willow.

Xander looked at Willow and saw her starring at the floor as if trying to figure out something.

"Hey B", she said. "Too bad we didn't have that dance last night could have shown you some new moves", she said while winking at Buffy. "Since your all alone out here how but you and me spend some quality time together," Faith sat there starring at Buffy and becoming fascinated with her beauty. "You are so beautiful", she said snapping out of her trance, " and hot."

Buffy blushed at the compliment. Willow frowned at this comment. "She isn't alone.", she told Faith.

Faith ignored her comment. "How about you and me go to the Bronze tonight?"

Buffy didn't know what to say, she had never been asked out before. Buffy opened and closed her mouth.

Willow saw this and felt this urgency to cut off Buffy. "Remember Buffy you can't because tonight we have that thing", she said.

Buffy starred at her with confused eyes. Then she noticed her two friends wore wide eyes as if trying to tell her something. "Oh right that thing", she turned to Faith. "Sorry I can't I have that thing", she said.

Faith stared at them confused and bewildered. "That's cool maybe next time", she said and stood up leaving Buffy.

Both Willow and Xander let out a sigh of release both happy at the realization that Faith left. Xander relieved that Buffy didn't get a date with Faith and Willow not sure as to why she was relieved. Again Willow starred at the floor with a confused look.

The next day came and Faith once again was determined to get a date with Buffy. Now more than ever and she was going to make sure Willow was no where to be seen. Spotting Buffy by her locker she made her way towards her.

"Hey B", she said and leaned against the locker. Buffy just looked at her.

"Hey Faith. How your first week of school going?", she asked.

"Terrific because I met you."

Buffy blushed at her comment. Faith smiled.

"I like how you blush every time I complement you", she honestly told Buffy.

Willow and Xander where both rounding the corner when they saw Buffy and Faith talking. Willow saw them two interacting and noticed Buffy blushed. For some reason it bothered her. Walking fast she needed to get to Buffy and save her from Faith. Xander followed behind seeing the determine look on the redheads face and knowing that all hell was going to break lose.

Xander didn't know why Willow had something against Faith. He personally didn't like Faith because he didn't want her stealing Buffy away. As for Willow... Xander could only guess that she didn't want Faith taking her best friend.

Willow neared them. "Buffy sorry for being late", she said.

Faith rolled her eyes. Here it goes again she thought. "Red if you don't mind, me and B were having a conversation."

"Actually I do mind. Buffy and me where just going to class together", she said linked her hand around Buffy's. Faith saw the exchange and it fired her up.

"What's your problem?", she said while getting close to Willow. Willow let go of Buffy.

Buffy and Xander stood by the sideline not wanting to get in the cross fire.

"My problem is that you keep on throwing yourself at Buffy. When Buffy wants nothing to do with you."

"What would you know?"

Their voices have become so loud that it attracted the rest of the hall that began to circle them.

"Fight!!", the rest of the classmate began to chant even though all they were doing was arguing.

The principal came and saw Faith and Willow starring each other down and Buffy and Xander near them.

"You four", he pointed at them. "Saturday detention."

All four looked confused and turned to stare at the principal. "What?!"
