Chapter 3
Willow walked inside school with a huge smile on her face. Her smile grew even bigger when she saw her girl. Tara. Just her name gave her butterflies. Tara was waiting for her at her locker. Willow walked up to her and gave her a kiss. People around her looked on and she knew the rumor would be around soon. She didn't care because she had Tara and that's all that mattered.
"Missed you", she told her.
"Missed you too", then Tara gave her a kiss.
Willow saw Xander walking. "Xander", she called out to him.
"Did you hear the good news?", she asked.
"Yeah that you guys are dating. It's all over the school by now. I heard the girls talking by the water fountain."
Willow looked around. "Where is Buffy?", she asked wanting to share her happiness with her best friend.
"Oh she wasn't feeling to good so she stayed home."
Willow worried how come she hadn't called her. "Buffy is sick."

Buffy was laying down on her bed listening to Coldplay. The same scene kept on playing inside her head. Willow and Tara kissing. Everything would have been perfect if Tara hadn't come to SunnyDale. But she did and now they are together instead of her and Willow being together like it should be.
It's her fault anyways because if she would have told Willow a long time ago about how she felt maybe her best friend would have felt the same way. She faked being sick in order to stay home and not face both Willow and Tara the whole day being happy together.
She heard a soft knock on the door. "Come in", she said. Her mother walked into the room with soup.
"Here you go honey. I made you some soup so you can feel better."
Buffy sat up and her mother put the bowl on her lap.
Joyce could tell that something was bothering her daughter but she didn't know what it was. "Honey is there something wrong?"
"Mom have you ever loved anyone and they never loved you back", she asked her mother.
Joyce sat next to her daughter. "Yes. It was a horrible feeling but you know what over time it got better and after a while a I was able to get over them." Joyce looked at her daughter play with the soup. "Why honey?"
"Because I love Willow but she already fell in love with the new girl Tara?", she said and slump back on her bed.
"Buffy listen to me. You are a beautiful girl with a wonderful personality I bet you one day Willow will come to her sense and notice the beauty in front of her. Trust me."
"You think so", she asked her mom like a child.
"I know so", she told her and kissed her on the top of her head.
The front door bell rang and Joyce quickly went to open it.
"Hello Xander how are you doing today?', she asked him.
"Very good is Buffy here?", he asked her. "I have her homework", he showed her the papers.
Joyce smiled at the boy. She knew that Xander like her daughter it would take a fool not to notice it. Joyce mentally corrected herself knowing that Buffy hadn't noticed. "She's upstairs."
Xander walked in and quickly fixed himself up before heading upstairs. Joyce just watched him with a smile on her face. 'Kids', she thought and headed inside the kitchen.
Buffy heard another knock on her door while she tried to eat her soup. "Come in", she told them.
Xander slowly opened the door to her room. "I come baring bad news. Homework."
Great like her day wasn't any worse. "Thanks I guess", she told him. Taking the papers she noticed that their was math homework and threw it on the floor. Xander noticed her angered state and decided to help her over come this.
"Anything I can do to help?", he asked.
"No", she told him.
Not taking no for an answer Xander decided to do the ultimate thing. The one thing he never thought he would ever have to do in a million years. Something he had promised himself years ago he would never do in front of Buffy.
Taking a big breath he began to do.... The snoopy dance.
At first Buffy didn't know what Xander was doing until it hit her on the head. Watching his friend jump up and down in front of her brought delight that she didn't think she had inside of her at the moment. Xander was doing his all time snoopy dance something she thought he would never do in front of her. Before she knew what was going on she was giggling and laughing.
Hearing Buffy laughing was like music to Xander's ears. There was nothing better than making the girl that you love smile.
After a while he stopped and just stood their watching Buffy laugh and smile. 'She was beautiful', he thought to himself.
After a couple of minutes of laughing Buffy was able to contain herself. Looking at Xander she noticed he had this big grin on his face but just shrugged it off. "Thanks Xander that really cheered me up. I never thought you would ever do the snoopy dance in front of me."
"Anything to see you happy", he told her not being able to remove his eyes from her.
"Oh you are such a good friend", she said and stood up to give him a huge. Xander sighed knowing that he will always just be Buffy's goofy friend and she will never see him more than that. Slowly closing his eyes he took this moment and made the best of it because this was as close as his heart while ever get to hers.
"I love you", she whispered.
"I love you too", and he meant it every word of it.

The next day.....
Willow nervously waited for Tara to arrive. She had bought Tara some roses and she was anxious to see if she liked the flowers. She paced back and forth in front of the school, just when she taught that maybe Tara was showing up she spotted her walking towards campus. Her face instantly brighten up.
Tara was walking towards Willow wanting to hold her and give her a huge she noticed Cordelia at the corner of her eyes looking at her with deadly eyes.
Willow frowned when she noticed Tara looking at Cordelia and notice the way Cordelia was looking at her. Willow rolled her eyes at her. Cordelia had always wanted to be her girlfriend but she had always declined. Cordelia just wasn't her type.
Willow walked up to Tara and wrapped her free hand around her waist and whispered in her ear. "Ignore her she's just jealous", she told her.
Tara giggled at this and watched Cordelia storm off with her crew. Noticing that Willow was only holding her with one hand she looked at her with suspicious eyes.
"What is that behind your back, Miss Rosenberg?"
Willow just gave her the innocent look. "Oh nothing. Just this", she said and surprised her with the flowers.
Tara instantly smiled and wrapped her arms around her and gave her kisses around her face. "Their beautiful. Thank you."
Buffy was already late to school and was trying to hurry up before the bell rang and then she noticed it. Tara and Willow standing in front of the school with Tara holding some flower and giving Willow kisses. Buffy felt like she was going to be sick. Trying to hide and rush pass them she went around them and hurried up inside. She could hear Willow calling her but she ignored her and hurried to class.
Willow sat at her english class contemplating as to why her best friend just ignored her. She had been waiting since yesterday to share her good news with her. Even though Buffy probably already knew either by Xander or the school. She knew a lot of girls and guys were mad that she was taken but she didn't care as long as she had Tara.
"Okay class today we are going to start our new project and I'm going to assign you partners."
While the teacher gave out the names Willows mind drifted off to Tara. She was just so happy to have her as her girlfriend she new that her wait was worth it.
"Willow and Cordelia", she heard the teacher announce. Willow eyes bulged out and looked over at Cordelia and noticed she had a smirk on her face.
'Dam', she thought to herself.
Buffy sat in the cafeteria just playing with her food, when Xander sat next to her. "Hey Buff", he said and watched as she played with her food. "I know the feeling sometimes I wonder what they are feeding us?"
Buffy didn't process the information and turned towards him. "Huh?"
Just then she saw Willow and Tara walk in holding hands she instantly grabbed her plate and was going to leave when she felt a hand stop her.
"Hey you can't run forever and besides she is still your friend", Xander tried to give his friend some advice.
Sighing she new Xander was right and if she continued to run she might lose her friendship with Willow. Nodding she sat down.
"Buffy are you feeling better? I tried calling you out in the morning didn't you hear me."
"Sorry I didn't", she said and tried to avoid making eye contact other wise she might see the pain this is causing her.
"I bet you already heard the great news", Willow said while looking at Tara.
"Yeah congratulations", Buffy told them without any excitement. Which made Willow frown.
Noticing what was happening Xander quickly tried to switch the topic. "Hey Willow you have Miss Davie right how about we do the project together."
This snapped Willow out of her thoughts. "Xander you have her a different period besides we got assigned partners."
"What theirs a law saying we can't do that? I'm writing an angry letter to the school board. Wills do you mind writing it for me." He said while taking a bite out of his apple.
Willow just shakes her head at her friends comments.
"Who's your partner", Tara asked her girlfriend.
"Cordelia", she told her.
"Cordelia!", both Tara and Buffy yelled out at the same time. Willow just stared at her girlfriend and best friend with a puzzled face.
"What's wrong?"
Buffy just stayed quiet knowing she had no place to be jealous or even say anything Willow wasn't hers she was Tara's. But still she didn't like the fact that Cordelia was her partner. She knew how Cordelia felt about Willow and she just didn't want her trying anything.
Willow looked at Buffy and saw her deep in thought and then she looked at Tara and saw her sad expression. "Hey what's wrong", she asked her.
"Nothing it's just. I don't know it's silly."
"Hey I don't think anything you say or feel is silly."
"I guess I'm a little jealous."
Willow took her hand. "Hey I don't want anyone but you just ask Xander and Buffy I turned down every person that asked me out. I was waiting for the right person then you came along. You were what I was waiting for. I don't have any interest in Cordelia so there is no need to worry." She finished by kissing her on the forehead.
Buffy wanted nothing more then to have Willow tell her those words.
Xander looked at Buffy and wished he could make her happy and give her the world.
Both sighed at the same time and dropped their food on their plates.

Willow put her books away in her locker when she saw Cordelia with her crew walking towards her. Willow mentally shivered.
"Hey Willow", Cordelia gave her best flirting tone. Hopping Willow will see her mistake and leave the blonde to be with her.
"Hey", was all Willow said.
"So when do you want to start working on the project", she asked while leaning close to her.
"Tomorrow at the library", Willow said while closing her locker and ignore Cordelia attempt to flirt with her.
"Oh I don't do libraries, how about my house, my bed is really comfortable", Cordelia leaned close to Willow almost smothering the redhead. Willow caught Tara in the corner of her eye and turned towards her girlfriend and moved towards her. Cordelia fell forward and hit herself on the locker.
"We will talk about it later", Willow shouted as she ran towards Tara.
Cordelia looked at the direction where Willow went then to her crew and stood in disbelief. "Did I just get ignored?"
Her crew shook their heads no and tried to comfort her. Cordelia just shrugged them off. "Ok girls time to conduct operation Red", Cordelia said and took off with the other girls following close behind.
Willow took hold of Tara's hand and linked it with hers.
"What was that about?", asked Tara.
"Oh she just wanted to know when to meet up to start the project. I really wish I didn't have Cordelia as my partner. In fact if I could get one wish it would be to be doing this project with you."
"Really why is that?", Tara asked with a smile.
"So I can do this", she said and gave her a kiss on the lips, "and this", another kiss on the lips, "or this", another kiss on the lips.
"Hmmm", Tara said. "Your kisses are like heaven."
Willow smiled at her and couldn't remember a life without her.
"So are we going?", asked Tara.
"No, we have to wait for Buffy, we always walk home together."
"Ok", smiled Tara and waited with Willow for Buffy.
Buffy in the other hand slowly put her books away hoping that maybe Willow had taken off with Tara but knowing the redhead she will be waiting outside the school. Buffy slowly made her way to the front of the school and their they were, like Buffy thought waiting for her. Tara sat on Willow's lap while Willow leaned her head on her shoulder. Buffy couldn't bare to see the sight but she knew that if she wanted to remain friends with Willow she would have to play nice.
Buffy put on her best smile and headed towards them. "Hey guys thank you for waiting", she told them.
"No problem Buffy", Willow said and stood up.
The remaining walk was like torture to Buffy, she was constantly being reminded of how Willow had found someone and Buffy didn't stand a chance. Buffy prayed to anyone for this torture to be over. Arriving to Tara's house, Buffy remained back while Willow said her goodbyes to Tara. Buffy looked away when she saw them kissing goodbye.
Seconds later she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around she was met with Willow and her cute smile. "Ready", she asked.
"Yup", she told her.
After walking in silence Buffy looked towards Willow and saw a smile on her face. How she wished that smile was because of her. "You're really happy you haven't stopped smiling since we left Tara."
"She makes me really happy Buffy. After spending all this time trying to find the right one I finally did."
Buffy heart broke knowing this. Willow noticed Buffy's sad expression. "Hey about you and me have a slumber party. Watch some horror movies and pig out."
Buffy smiled at this. Like old times. "Heck yeah", she said.
Both girls laughed at this and headed towards Buffy's house to get ready for the slumber party.
Both Buffy and Willow lay on Buffy's bed eating popcorn and watching The Grudge. Willow kept on mentioning that the lead actress looked like her but Buffy couldn't see the similarity.
"So how is the project coming along with Cordelia?"
Willow rolled her eyes hating the fact that she has to be around Cordelia. "I hate it, she keeps on trying to get too close. Ever since freshman year. I'm afraid to be alone with her Buff", she told Buffy with this scared face.
Buffy laughed finding it cute. "It can't be that bad."
"After school she came up to me saying that we should do the project at her house on her nice comfy bed", she says while raising her eyebrows.
"I see your point", Buffy says.
"When is she going to get over me", Willow ask to no one in particular.
Buffy just stares at her popcorn. "Once you fall for Willow you stay fallen."
"Aww Buffy that is so sweet", Willow says and Buffy didn't even realize she had said that outloud. But it was truth and she knew it from experience.
Sighing she took a bite out of her popcorn and pouted.

Willow sat on her kitchen table having seconds ago been talking to Tara. Willow sighed already missing Tara and her beautiful voice. Willow waited for Cordelia to come over in order to start working on their project. Willow really wished her parents were here tonight.
Willow heard the front doorbell. Willow stood up from her chair and went to open the door. There stood Cordelia Chase with a revealing blouse and if she bent forward it would expose all her cleavage also she wore a really small skirt.
"Hey Willow", she said while putting her finger on her mouth and licking it.
Willow just rolled her eyes at Cordelia's attempt to catch her attention. Willow didn't find anything attractive about what stood in front of her, she still saw Tara as the most beautiful and sexiest women she has ever seen.
"Come in Cordelia", she said and Cordelia walked in brushing by Willow making sure they make contact.
Willow closed the door and grunted knowing this was going to be a long night.
Willow tried to talk to Cordelia about the project but she kept on attempting to do is try to get Willow to check her out. Cordelia would brush her hand against Willows, laugh at all the "jokes" Willow made. Also flipped her hair and crossed her legs but Willow was unaffected.
Cordelia seemed determine to get Willow but she was getting frustrated that Willow didn't show any signs of interest. But this didn't affect Cordelia and was more determined then ever to get the one thing she always wanted.
When Cordelia stood up to stretch and "accidentally" dropped her pen and bend down to pick it up to try to show Willow her asset. Willow had enough of it and stood up to take a break.
"I'm going to get something to drink you want anything", she asked Cordelia.
"Just you", she said.
Willow sighed and rubbed her head for the up coming headache she knew she was going to get.
Cordelia quickly moved into action taking Willow's phone and texting Tara. Once she saw the message sent sign she waited impatiently for the reply looking into the kitchen ever so often to see if Willow was coming back. Feeling the phone vibrate she quickly replayed and sat the phone back down.
Willow walked back in with two glasses of lemonade. Setting them down she continued with her work.
"You know Willow if you and me ever got together we would be the reigning couple of SunnyDale High", she said while slightly leaning forward.
Willow continued to concentrate on her work. "That's ok I don't care much for titles."
"That's a shame", she finished saying when she felt her phone vibrating.
Opening up she saw the text by Harmony and quickly moved into action. Picking up the glass of lemonade she began to drink and then purposely dropped all the lemonade on her shirt when Willow wasn't looking. Willow stood up with caution, "I will get you a towel", she said.
"There's no need", Cordelia said and removed her shirt exposing her bra. Willow quickly averted her eyes.
"Cordelia could you please put your shirt back on or you can borrow one of mine", she told her.
"Why we are both women here?"
"It makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm with Tara and I don't think this is appropriate."
Tara walked towards Willow house getting a message saying to meet her at her house. Tara was surprised because she remembered her saying that she was going to work on the project. Shrugging she just figure knowing her smart girlfriend she had probably had already finished and couldn't wait to see her. Making her way to the front door she noticed a park car in front of the house. Once she neared the house she saw a light from a cellphone light up.
Cordelia knew that Tara was quickly going to be here and she needed her to see herself and Willow together. Cordelia began to walk near Willow while the redhead looked away.
"Please Cordelia I'm asking nicely", she told the cheerleader.
Cordelia smirked when she saw Tara coming towards the house. "Ok I put it back on", she said and when Willow moved her face back she pushed her against the wall and kissed her.
Tara neared the house when she saw the living room lights on looking through the windows she saw both Willow and Cordelia standing there. What she saw made her heart stop. Cordelia stood there with no shirt on and she pushed Willow up against the wall and kissed her. Tara felt the tears welled up and looked away with her hand covering her mouth in shock.
Willow pushed Cordelia away. "What are you doing", she asked the brunet with anger. Something caught the attention of the redhead in the corner of her eye and she looked outside through the living room windows. Seeing Tara standing there with her back facing towards the house, she wondered what her girlfriend was doing here.
When Tara looked back towards the house Willow noticed the tears on her face. Willow face lit up with realization as to what she must have seen. "No Tara", she yelled as the blonde began to run.
Running towards the front door she bust it open and ran after her girlfriend.
Cordelia just stood there with a triumph face and put her shirt back on. Going outside she walked inside her car where the rest of her crew awaited. "Mission accomplished", she told them and started the car and drove off.
Tara kept on running as fast as she could in order to get the image out of her head but it was no use she could hear Willow calling her name but she couldn't stop.
Willow ran as fast as she could. She needed to get to Tara and explain everything. Willow could feel her heart ache at even contemplating of losing Tara. "Tara wait please let me explain!", she yelled out.
Willow saw Tara stop and ran towards her. Stopping at where Tara was she catch her breath. "Please Tara what you saw wasn't what it seemed", she said.
Tara just wrapped her arms around herself. "It's ok you don't need to explain yourself. It was dump of me to even think I could have you as my girlfriend."
Willow stood there confussed. "What? I don't know what you mean."
"It's alright you can stop pretending. I should have know what would one of the most popular girls in school want to do with a dull girl like me."
"Ok that's it", Willow said not liking what she was hearing. "Tara look at me please", she begged her. Tara slowly looked up at her. "What you saw in there was none other than Cordelia Chase trying to separate us. She planned this whole thing out. She came over all trying to seduce me but I didn't fall into her plan because all I wanted was you."
"Then why send me the text message", she asked.
"What text message?", the redhead asked Tara.
"The one saying you wanted me to come over", she explained while rubbing her hands up and down her arm in order to keep warm.
"What? Tara I never send you a text message."
Willow pulled out her phone and noticed a message sent to Tara. "It was her", she exclaimed.
"Tara please listen to me. I love you. I told you all my life I have turned down every single person including Cordelia Chase in order to find the woman of my dreams. That's you, I don't want her, in my eyes you're a goddess."
Tara smiled at her upon hearing those words coming out of her mouth. Now that Tara thought about it she did remember seeing a weird car in front of Willow's house and she knows deep inside her heart that Willow would never do such a thing. But still seeing Willow and Cordelia kissing was still fresh in her mind and she was still hurt.
"Please I would never do something like that to you, I love you to much, Tara-", Willow pleaded with her so desperately trying to get the blonde to believe her. Tara just took Willows hands into her own.
"Willow its alright I believe you, I just need sometime to think and deal with what I'm feeling", she said and rubbed her hands up and down her arm. Willow noticed this and took off her sweater and put it around Tara. Tara smiled at the affection.
"I will walk you home", she told her. The walk home to Tara's was quite and uncomfortable and it pained both girls not to be holding hands, kissing and holding each other but at the moment it just didn't seem right.
Walking up to the front of door Tara turned to Willow and gave her a small smile. "I will call you", she said and headed inside. Tara wanted to kiss Willow but knowing that just seconds ago they were pressed against Cordelia it didn't make her feel right.
Willow just hopelessly watched her go inside.
