Chapter 2
Both Willow and Tara walked along the street in comfortable silence. Willow noticed Tara shiver and quickly took off her sweater.
"Here you should wear this?", she told her and put it around her shoulder. Tara smiled and took the offered sweater.
"Well we are here?", she pointed to her house. Willow took a good look at it and tried to recall how to get here for future reference.
"Thank you for walking me home", Tara sweetly told Willow.
"You're welcome anytime. I had a real good time with you today we should do it again.", she told her while shifting her feet back and forth.
"Yeah we should", Tara said and was about to walk away when Willow nervously stepped in front of her.
"I meant just us no friends. It can be like a date", she told her hopping not to scare the girl.
Tara inside did the happy dance. "I would love to."
"Okay how about tomorrow I will pick you up at seven", she told her with the biggest smile Tara has ever seen.
"Okay. I should head in before my parents get mad?", she said and started to walk away put not before turning back and giving Willow a kiss on the cheek. "Thank You for the wonderful evening."
Unable to find words after the kiss Willow just gave her a goofy smile and nodded. Smiling Tara went inside once Willow knew Tara was safely inside she jump up in the air with joy and did her own version of the happy dance and took off running. Unknown to Willow Tara saw the whole thing and couldn't help but laugh at the redheads childish but cute behavior.

Buffy stood in front of her best friend in disbelief as to what she just heard. "She said yes!"
"Yup. She even gave me a kiss on the cheek." Pointing to her cheek Willow started to walk to the nearest sit in the court yard.
"What do you mean by a kiss, like her lips touched your cheek?", Buffy anxiously wanted answer and couldn't handle the fact that Tara had kissed Willow, even if it was on the cheek.
Willow nodded with happiness. "Congratulations Willow", Xander said.
Buffy looked at Xander like he had gone crazy and then turned to Willow in disbelief. "Are you sure about this Willow?"
"Why shouldn't I be?", asked a confused Willow.
Setting her books down Buffy tried to get her message across. "Think about you barely know the girl she could be anyone, she could be someone different then what she shows you, who could her parents be?"
Willow furrow her brow, "Wait what does her parents have to do with anything?"
"You never know they can-", Buffy stopped trying to find and excuse and then pointed her finger in the air like she got a bright idea, "they could work for the IRS."
Even Xander looked at her questioningly thinking that maybe the blonde girl had lost her mind.
Willow just looked at the sky dreamy. "I will take the chance?"
Willow stood and walked away while wrapping her arms around herself and smiling. Xander followed her and Buffy was left surprised and mad. "I can believe this!", she yelled at no one in particular.

"Xander the zipper goes up not down!", Willow yelled at Xander. Xander eyes widen and pulled the zipper up.
"Sorry couldn't help it it's not every day I help a girl into a dress.", he said and sat down on the bed. "Why isn't Buffy here helping you out?"
"She said that she had something important to do", Willow explained while putting on her earrings.
"Willow can I ask you something?", he said.
"Sure ask away", she said and strained out her dress.
"Would you date me?", he said.
Willow almost dropped her water bottle on her desk. "Wow Xander we are friends and I'm not into-"
"No not like that", he stopped her from continuing. "I mean if you were Buffy would you date me?"
"Oh I see what this is about? Xander you need to tell her other wise she is never going to appreciate what is in front of her."
Xander heart yearned to be Willow, to hold Buffy heart in her hand. Xander made a promise long ago to Buffy that he would never tell Willow of her feelings and it's not a promise he is going to break. Sighing and chuckling at the same time.
"Can I ask you another question?"
"Boy you are just full of questions today aren't you?", she said while smiling. "Shoot."
"How do you feel about Buffy?"
The question caught Willow of guard and took her a while to respond. Turning around she looked at Xander with a confused look. "She's Buffy my best friend. Why?"
"I don't know just wondering if you have ever seen her as more?"
Buffy was about to knock on the door of the Rosenberg residence when a thought occurred to her. Turning the knob she found the door open rolling her eyes at her two friends carelessness she began to walk up the stairs. The door to Willow room was slightly open she could here both Xanders and Willow's voice.
She heard her name being mentioned. "How do you feel about Buffy?", she heard Xander asking.
She leaned her head towards the door listening closely getting interested in the topic of conversation. She realized that Willow had yet to answer.
Then she heard her voice. "She's Buffy my best friend. Why?"
"I don't know just wondering if you have ever seen her as more?", this time Buffy heart started to beat faster anticipating the answer.
She quickly heard her best friend response. "Not really I mean she's the one I talk to with my problems, she's the one I discuss fashion tips, she's always just been my friend."
Buffy heart crushed at the words and lowered her head in disappointment. "Actually", she heard Willow speak, "there was this one time-".
Buffy leaned forward more to hear better when she accidentally hit the door with her foot. She mentally slapped herself with her carelessness.
Willow stopped at mid-sentence and walked to the door. "Is there someone at the door?", she asked and opened it. She was met by a happy excited Buffy.
"Willow I made", she said while extending her arms and giving her a big huge. "I told my mom I couldn't miss your big day."
"Did you just get here?", she asked the blonde.
"Yeah why?", she told her innocently.
"Just asking", Willow said then beamed up. "How do I look I need a good opinion", she said.
"Hey", she heard Xander say behind her.
Smiling she turned to face Xander. "Sorry Xan but I needed a woman's opinion."
Turning back around she spin for Buffy. "Well"
Buffy looked at her and couldn't believe the beauty that stood before her. "You look radiant."
Smiling Willow grabbed her purse and took off. Slamming the door behind her Buffy slumped and Xander gestured for her to come to him.
Walking over to him he enveloped her in a huge hug. "It's going to be alright you never know they might not even enjoy each others company."
"I hope so", she said while pouting. Xander just smiled at her. "Does that make me a bad person?", she asked.
Xander thought about it and then tightened his arms around her. "No that just means your in love."
Willow nervously knocked the front door of Tara's house. She could hear Tara and her mom talking on the other side of the door.
"I just want you to be careful", Tara's mom gave her advice.
"I will mom", she said and opened up the door.
Willow smiled at her and handed her a bouquet of flowers. Tara smiled and took the offered flowers and walked into the kitchen to put them into a vase.
"Thank you Willow they are beautiful", she told her. Willow turned towards Tara's mom.
"Hello Mrs. McClay it's nice to meet you my name is Willow and this", she gave the mother a single rose, "is for you."
The mother took the offered flower and smiled at Willow. "Nice to meet you Willow. Thank you for the beautiful rose."
"Of course", she said and Tara came back.
"Ready?", she asked Willow.
"Whenever you are", she told her.
"Please Willow have her back before 9o'clock", the mom asked Willow.
Smiling Willow nodded hoping she made a good impression on Tara's mom. "No later then nine I promise."
Tara quickly got out of the house and took Willows hand wanting to spend some alone time with Willow. "Bye mom see you at nine", she said while pulling Willow with her.
"Nice meeting you Mrs. McClay", Willow said while Tara pulled her away from the house.
"Nice meeting you too Willow", Mrs. McClay just smiled at her daughters behavior and close the door behind her.
Willow tried to contain her balance. Tara saw the look Willow was giving her. "Sorry it's just that I was so eager to spend some alone time with you."
Willow just beamed at hearing this. "Me too", she told her.
Willow couldn't concentrate on the movie because all her attention kept on going to Tara. Tara looked content just sitting there while Willow was a nervous wreck.
"Are you enjoying the movie?", she asked her.
Tara leaned forward and whispered in Willow's ear. "Yes", which gave Willow the shivers.
Tara noticed and smiled inside knowing she had this kind of affect on Willow. Extending her hand she grabs Willows and held on to it. Willow couldn't believe that Tara was holding her hand. It felt perfect.
Tara turned to see Willow reaction and saw a bewildered one instead of a happy smile. Tara wondered whether she had made the right decision. About to move her hand away Willow tightened it surprising Tara. Before Tara knew what had happened Willow had leaned forward and gave her a kiss.
Willow had been debating with herself whether or not to kiss Tara. When she felt Tara trying to move her hand she had gotten the courage to kiss her. Now she doesn't know if she should have. Looking at Tara she hadn't open her eyes ever since the kiss.
"Tara I'm sorry I didn't mean. I understand if you never want to see me-", her sentence was cut short by Tara's lips.
"You babble", Willow gave her a goofy grin, "I think it's cute."
Willow smiled at her comment and hesitantly leaned forward for another kiss. Amazingly Tara kissed back and the movie was forgotten for the rest of the time.
Xander didn't know what he was doing. He had only agreed to do this because of his love for Buffy but know his not sure this was a good idea. Buffy had somehow convinced him to follow Tara and Willow. Now both him and Buffy are hiding behind some bushes waiting for Willow and Tara to come out from the movie theaters.
"Buffy don't you think maybe we should go home", he asked her.
"No. Remember you promised", she told him.
Buffy knew this was crazy but not knowing what was happening was driving her crazy. If she had stayed home all she would have thought about was Willow and Tara on their date.
After almost two hours they saw Willow and Tara come out of the movie theaters. Buffy was kind of relief because they didn't seem to close. She was about to smile when she noticed Tara reaching for Willow's hand.
After that Buffy just saw red.
Willow couldn't be more happy then she is right now. Not only did she go on a date with a beautiful woman but she also kissed her. Tara has such soft lips, she thought to herself. Willow was so into her thoughts that she didn't even noticed that they had gotten to Tara's house.
Tara turned towards Willow. "Thank you I really enjoyed the date."
Willow knew she had to ask her before the date was over. She couldn't go to sleep if she didn't ask Tara the question she's being dying to ask.
"Tara", she quietly says.
"Yes"
Tara could see that Willow is nervous. "Hey whatever you are about to say can't be that bad?'
Tara couldn't believe it Willow had just asked her to be girlfriends. She was happy maybe coming to SunnyDale had been a good idea. Tara noticed Willow sad expression and wondered how she had gotten like that. Then it hit her she hadn't giving her responds back. Willow probably thinks I don't want to be with her.
"I would love to be your girlfriend."
Willow was so happy she couldn't contain herself and grab Tara into a huge and kissed her.
Buffy and Xander stared from afar at Willow and Tara talking in front of the house. Xander just looked on while trying to stay awake. While Buffy's attention was fully on the two girls. Buffy could tell they were having a serious conversation.
At first Buffy had thought that Tara had rejected Willow because her best friend had looked sad. She was already thinking of way to cheer Willow up. When all of a sudden out of nowhere. Willow had thrown herself to Tara and had giving her a kiss.
At that moment Buffy heart sink to the floor. The love of her life had just kissed someone else. Before she knew what she was doing she had run away with tears in her eyes. She could hear Xander running after her.
