Chapter 9
Buffy laid on her bed listening to the rain outside and snuggling up with Mr. Gordo, trying to keep herself warm. Closing her eyes she imagined Willow laying next to her keeping her warm, the mere thought made her smile. Buffy shook away such thoughts, she promised herself that she was going to try to move on. She had to learn how to live without her best friend and finally except the fact that she couldn't be with the woman she loves.
Sighing she stood up and made her way downstairs to fix herself a snack. Her mom had stayed late tonight at the gallery in order to finish some last minute deliveries, having skipped dinner, Buffy was starving. Walking to the refrigerator she looked at a picture of Willow, Xander and herself in the park. Smiling she took the picture down and starred at it, not being able to remove her eyes from Willow. Tracing her face with her fingers, she could feel the ache in her heart, she was already missing her best friend.
Taking the picture she made her way towards the sink not even noticing the kitchen door opening because she was too preoccupied with looking at the picture. Putting the picture down she safely put distance between it and the sink wanting to wash up her hand before she started her sandwich. Turning around she was shocked to see Willow standing in her kitchen dripping water on the floor.
Buffy didn't know what to say, just seconds ago she thought she was never going to see her again now she is standing in front of her. "Willow?", she knew the question was ridiculous but she couldn't help but ask.
"I'm stupid", was all Willow said, "for not noticing such beauty before. All this time Buffy, all this time I was trying to search for the right one and she was in front of me this entire time.", pondering for a while she finally continued with a chuckle, "I am naïve."
Buffy didn't know what to make of this, "Willow what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Tara?"
"I couldn't go", she said while coming closer to Buffy, "all I could think about was you. You're my everything Buffy. I can live without Tara but I can't live without you."
Buffy's voice was caught in her throat she didn't want to ruin this moment and was waiting for the words to confirm her suspicions. "What are you trying to say?", she asked the redhead.
"I love you", she whisper at her, taking Buffy's hands into her own, "I'm in love with you, always have been."
Buffy's couldn't imagine a better moment in her life, she had a bright smile on her face. "I love you too."
Before she could even react Willow had their bodies pressed together and given her the most passionate kiss she had ever received. Buffy didn't want this moment to end, she didn't know how long they had been standing in that spot just kissing and holding each other. Everything came back when she felt Willow shivering and noticed that she was soaked.
"We should get you changed", she whispered in her ear. "I don't want you to catch a cold."
"Maybe I should, that way I can stay home and you can take care of me", Willow said while giving her pecks on the lips.
"Hmmm", Buffy couldn't get enough of Willow's kisses, "I can still do that with you healthy, that way it can be more fun. Come on", she took Willow upstairs. "Here", she said and handed her some clothes, "change."
"Wow we have only been girlfriends for less than thirty minutes and you already want to see me naked", teased Willow. Willow smiled when she saw Buffy blush, "You look so gorgeous when you blush, I wonder how far that blush goes", she told her making Buffy blush even further. Buffy gently pushed Willow towards the bathroom.
Once Willow entered the bathroom Buffy jumped up and down with excitement and took Mr. Gordo in her arms and began to dance with him. Dancing around she finally faced the bathroom and noticed Willow starring at her with a bemused expression.
Embarrassed that she got caught Buffy looked down while tucking her hair behind her ear, "How long have you been standing there?"
"Not long. If it makes you feel any better I did the exact same thing when I went into the bathroom", she wrapped her arms around Buffy's waist.
Buffy just held on to Willow, "I'm so glad that you are here with me", she told her.
"There's no where else I've rather be", Willow assured her. Kissing her on the top of her head they were both surprised to hear the doorbell ring. Looking at each other they went downstairs. Opening the door they saw Xander standing there with clothes in his hand.
Xander was glad to see Willow standing before him, he envelop her in a huge hug. "Willow you didn't leave!"
Xander spun her around and then set her down, "What made you change your mind?"
Both girls gave him a shy smile and took each others hand while Xander watched the interaction. "Oh", he said and saw both girls trying to start to explain themselves but Xander just waved his hands in the air, "no need to. I'm happy for you too", he sincerely told them. Looking at Willow he tried to make her see his seriousness, "Take care of her Willow."
Willow just squeezed Buffy's hand and looked at her with love in her eyes, "I will", she promised.
Buffy smiled back and gave her a quick peck, looking back at Xander she noticed the clothes he was holding, "Xander why did you bring over some clothes?"
Xander looked like something finally snapped inside his head and walked further inside while closing the door behind him, "I need you guys to help me pick out an outfit, I have a date", he announced proudly.
"Wow. Who's the lucky girl?", Willow asked her friend.
"The girl that works at the new toy store. She's hot", he said with excitement, "and unique", he said and then contemplated is words for a while then he smiled after a few seconds, "I like her. Her name is Anya."
"Well let's get you ready for this date", Buffy announced and both her and Willow began to pick out an outfit for Xander, while he had a hard time trying to keep up with them.

Buffy had a huge smile on her face when she saw the building of the school knowing that it was only a few moments before she was back in the arms of her girlfriend. Buffy kept on feeling so giddy every time she thought or mentioned Willow as her girlfriend. The two had been inseparable the entire weekend, always around each other, even her mom had to set up rules for their sleepovers.
"Buffy", she heard Cordelia calling her but she was in her own little world and continued to walk.
"Buffy, god are you deaf or something", she heard Cordelia say to her side while trying to keep up with Buffy.
"What do you want Cordelia?", she asked not wanting to be disturbed and wanting to continue with her daydream of Willow.
"Is it true?", Cordelia asked her.
"What is?"
"That Willow stayed and didn't leave with Tara", she asked Buffy with anticipation in her voice.
"Yes", the blonde simply responded wanting to get rid of Cordelia.
"Great. Now I can continue my operation", she mumbled to herself.
"Whatever you say", Buffy told her not worrying about Cordelia because she knew that Willow had eyes for her only.
"Girls", she heard Cordelia address her 'followers', "today I am going to get Willow to myself."
Buffy stopped by the stairs and noticed Willow standing there with a teddy bear in hand. She noticed Cordelia walk up to her and extend her hand in order to receive the bear but Willow just walked pass her. Cordelia was dumb fold not knowing what just happened, she was sure that the stuff animal was for her. Cordelia became more infuriated when she saw Willow hand the teddy bear to Buffy.
"This is for you", she said and kissed her on the mouth. Buffy took the teddy bear and held on for a couple of more seconds to the kiss, wanting people to know who Willow belonged to.
The couple passed by a shocked Cordelia. Cordelia watched the new couple walk inside hand in hand. "What the hell?", she asked no one in particular and then she threw her finger up in the air as if she finally realized something, "I get it Willow likes blondes." Turning to her crew she starred them down, "Girls tonight I'm dyeing my hair." Harmony and the rest just looked at each other with questioning stares and quickly followed after Cordelia.
Buffy kept on looking at the clock wanting to get out of school in order to be with Willow. Buffy felt like she was on top of the world, it was everything she always imagined and more. Everyone kept on congratulating them, many saying that they had seen the love and were just wondering when it was going to happen. Willow just pouted at the remarks, wanting to be smacked upside the head for not realizing it when everyone else could see it. Buffy kindly didn't point out that Faith would more than glad to smack her upside the head.
Speaking of Faith Buffy was more than surprise to see Faith approach both of them, even more surprised to see her and Willow actually be nice to each other, well sort of. Faith had come up to us with a bottle of whisky wanting to celebrate our new found relationship. I kindly turned down the offer, chuckling to myself I though, 'That's so like Faith'.
Finally hearing the bell ring I gathered my stuff and made my way out of class to my locker, putting my stuff in I noticed a note. It was from Willow saying to meet her at the park. Smiling to myself I made my way out the building.
"Buffy!', I hear someone calling my name, turning around I notice Xander walking towards me with a girl in hand.
"Xander", I say and notice the girl with a game in her hand.
"Buffy let me introduce you to Anya", the girl extend her hand and Buffy shook it. "She's my girlfriend", Xander said with a giddy voice.
Buffy smiled warmly at the girl. "Nice to meet you."
"Buffy that's an odd name, I would really like to stay but me and Xander need to get to my place and have sex, then we are going to visit a tree."
Buffy stood there shocked at Anya's words. "Okay", she finally let out not knowing what else to say.
Anya nodded her head and began to walk away while Xander stayed behind watching her with loving eyes. "Isn't she great."
Buffy just starred at her friend like his gone crazy but then she noticed how happy he was and smiled, "Yeah she is."
Xander looked at Buffy and began to look around, "What are you looking for?", she asked him.
"Willow", he answered, "ever since you two have gotten together I never see you apart. So where are you hiding her?", he asked while lifting her arms. Buffy just shook him off. "She wants me to meet her at the park."
"Oh okay, tell her I say hi, and that tonight I will introduce her to my girlfriend, wait don't tell her that, I want to be there when she knows. I want to see the excitement in her eyes", he said giddily.
"Xander you're being giddy", Buffy whined.
"Sorry", he apologized.
"Xander I want to have orgasms", they heard Anya say. Buffy starred back at her with a shocked expression, while Xander just smiled at her. "I'm coming", he said and patted Buffy on the shoulder while heading down the stairs.
Buffy just starred at them with a bewildered expression then chuckled at her friends new girlfriend. 'She sure is something else', she thought.
Buffy fasten her step wanting to get to Willow as soon as possible. Seeing the redhead standing by the swings she sneaked behind her. "I know you're there", she heard Willow say. Buffy stopped in her track, "How did you?"
"I can sense you", Willow said while turning around to give her girlfriend a rose. Buffy took the rose and smelled it, "Yeah right, tell me, how did you know?"
"I told you I can sense you, it's my six sense, the Buffy sense", she teased Buffy. "Just joking baby, I could smell your perfume. Come on I have something for you", she took Buffy by the hand and led her to a secluded area.
Buffy saw the picnic laid out and smiled at her thoughtful girlfriend. "You didn't have to", she told her.
"I wanted to", Willow said and both girls sat down.
Willow slowly took a box out of her backpack and set it down. Opening it up she took out a ring and looked at Buffy, "Buffy my whole life I had been searching for the right person, it took me a while but I finally found her. You're the one, you're my one. I love you more than words can describe. You make me feel like I'm in heaven and nobody can even compare to your beauty. I bought you this to show you how committed I am to you and that I'm never going to leave you. It's a promise ring."
Willow took Buffy's hand and put the ring on her left ring finger. "I promise to always be there for you, I promise to take care of you and to love you forever."
Buffy was so touched by Willow's words that she began to cry tears of joy. "This way", Willow continued, "I know that you belong to me and I", she said while extending her own left hand, "belong to you", she said while showing her the promise ring on her left ring finger.
"Oh my god Willow", she said and threw herself forward kissing Willow. "I love you so much."
"I love you more", she heard Willow whisper in her ear.
Both girls lay on the grass holding each other never wanting to let go and knowing that this is where they belong, in each others hearts.
