Part seven

Rupert Giles looked up when he heard someone calling his name.

"Ah, Miss Summers."

Buffy smiled and set her bag on the counter top.

"Please, call me Buffy."

He smiled and tilted his head.

"Only if you'll call me Giles, I don't much like the 'Mr' part. Makes me sound old."

Buffy laughed and nodded her head.

"Okay, Giles. I'm actually here on business. I was looking for a book that I need. I ordered enough for everyone in the class, but the suppliers sent one less."

He came around the desk and opened the card index.

"What's the title?"

As he was looking for the card, Buffy took a seat at the desk, only looking up when she heard the doors open.

"Hey Bu- Miss Summers." Willow caught herself and smiled at Buffy before turning and telling Giles good morning.

"Willow, good I was hoping that you'd be by early."

Xander plopped down beside Buffy, and set a box of donuts on the table.

"Help yourself."

Buffy grinned and opened the box, nearly drooling when she saw the jelly ones.

"Thanks, I kinda skipped breakfast this morning. So what's Will doing for Giles?"

"Some computer thing." It was a wonder Xander could speak, considering he had two donuts stuffed into his mouth.

Buffy smiled and stood up when Giles called her over.

"Here you go, that card tells you what section you need to look in."

Buffy took the card from him, smiled at Willow, and left the two of them to it, to find her book.

-----

Willow finished what she was doing on the computer for Giles and stood up to stretch.

"Hey, did Miss Summers leave yet Giles?"

He looked up and shook his head no.

"Xander has though, he said to meet him in class."

Willow nodded her head and headed into the stacks to find Buffy.

It took her a few moments, but she finally found the blonde sitting on the floor, with a book on her lap.

"Hey."

Buffy jumped, dropping the book from its resting place.

"God Willow! Don't do that."

Willow smirked and crouched down.

Buffy's eyes widened as she saw Willow's jeans pull tight against her legs, showing her curves.

"What's up?" She really hoped Willow didn't notice the highness in her voice.

She did, but she wasn't sure what was causing it.

"Nothing, just figured that I'd come back and say hello, but if you want I can...." Willow made as if to stand up, but Buffy reached out and pulled her back down.

Neither knew if Buffy pulled to hard, or Willow went down to easily, but Willow ended up half on Buffy's lap where her book had been.

Buffy froze, trying not to groan out loud at the feel of the redhead against her.

Willow blushed before taking a breath, which did cause Buffy to gasp though Willow missed it, and pulling back onto her hunches.

"Sorry."

Buffy took her own deep breath and smiled.

"My fault."

"So, what were you reading?" Willow wanted to change the subject, trying not to seem like a dork.

Buffy smiled and showed her the art history book.

"I was one short, thankfully Giles had one on hand."

-----

Buffy rushed into the teachers toilets and sighed when the door closed.

Setting down her bag and her book, she rolled her sleeves up and turned on the cold water before splashing some on her face and neck.

"I have got to get a grip."

Taking a deep breath, she held it and counted to ten before slowly releasing it again.

Finally feeling under control, she gathered her things and left, heading for her first class of the day.

-----

Willow watched as Xander squirted more sauce on his fries and laughed when he squeezed to hard.

"Oh sure, laugh it up." He took a napkin and wiped off the excess sauce before stuffing a fry into his mouth.

"So, how's things with Anya?"

Willow watched as a smiled lit her friends face.

"She's great Will, and I'm not taking about the sex, which is also excellent, but I really like spending time with her."

Willow blushed, not wanting to think about Xander and sex in the same sentence.

"She was talking about getting her own place in Sunnydale for the weekends."

Willow looked up at that.

"Why?"

She watched as he blushed and shook her head.

"Never mind. I don't think I want to know."

He smiled and ate another fry.

"She'll miss staying with Buffy though."

Willow smiled at the mention on the blonde.

"They are pretty good friends."

Xander nodded as he demolished the rest of his fries.

"Best friends according to Anya."

Willow tilted her head, wondering just Anya had told Xander about the blonde.

"What else did she say?"

Xander looked up, sauce on his chin and frowned.

"Who?

Willow rolled her eyes and threw a napkin at him.

"Anya. About Buffy."

He wiped the sauce off and threw the napkin on the now empty plate.

"Just that they've been best friends for years, and helped each other through hard times."

He watched Willow's face, wondering if Anya was right about his friend having a crush on their teacher.

"She mentioned that they had a relationship, but it was only sex."

Willow's eyes widened before narrowing in jealously.

Bingo ,thought Xander.

"I'm kidding Will, they're just best friends."

'whoops, busted'

Willow smiled sheepishly at the knowing look on Xander's face.

Xander stood up as the end of lunch bell rang.

"You and me Miss Rosenberg are going to have a little chat."

Willow gulped and grabbed her bag.

"Sorry, can't, we have class."

"Yeah, and it happens to be art." Xander smirked.

Willow groaned.
