Part twenty two

Buffy glared at her ex and pushed past her, heading to the bar.

"What are you doing here?"

Gwen shrugged, and looked over the club.

"Wasn't doing much, figured I'd look up an old flame."

Buffy ordered her drinks, and turned back to Gwen, the glare still on her face.

"And I repeat. What are you doing here?"

Gwen smiled and reached out, attempting to trail a finger down Buffy's cheek, but the blonde pulled back.

"How did you even know where I was?" Buffy took her drinks from the bar-man, but refused to subject Willow to the woman before her.

"Got into contact with a few of the old friends up in L.A."

Buffy narrowed her eyes at her ex, and stepped closer.

"I've moved on, fully. Stay the hell away from me."

-----

Anya spotted Buffy talking to someone, someone who look suspiciously like-

"What the fuck is she doing here?"

Of course the other two at the table didn't know why she was so worked up, but they both saw that she was.

Willow frowned when she saw Buffy talking to a woman she didn't know.

"Who is that?"

Anya was still glaring in the direction Gwen was.

"Buffy's ex."

Willow's head whipped back around to watch her girlfriend move closer to the brunette before pushing past her, and walking towards them, the glare still on her pretty face.

Buffy groaned when she sat at the table, and handed Willow her drink, not seeing the look on her girlfriends face.

"Anya, tell me she's gone." Buffy had knew the others had seen her with Gwen, and she knew Anya hated her almost as much as Buffy did herself.

"She's sitting at the bar, watching you."

Buffy groaned again, before seeing the jealously on Willow's face.

"Willow, relax. Its ancient history." Buffy leaned over, and whispered in her lover's ear, not wanting the others to hear.

Willow turned her head, and glared at Buffy's ex, before her eyes widened.

"She's coming over."

Buffy growled under her breath, and stood up to intercept Gwen.

"This is your new lover? Buffy! She doesn't look any older than nineteen."

Willow grinned. If she only knew.

No-one at the table said anything.

Buffy grabbed Gwen's arm and dragged her away from the table and pulled her outside.

"What do you want?"

Gwen smiled and leaned into Buffy.

"You."

Buffy laughed and pushed her away.

"Never going to happen. I'm in love with her. What I felt for you is no where near what I feel for her. Get out of my life."

Buffy turned her back, and walked back into the club.

Gwen watched her go and sighed.

Turning her back, she headed to her car.

She would try again tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after if she had to, but she was getting Buffy back. No teenager was getting one over of her.

Besides, Buffy had a lot of money, and Gwen wanted it.

-----

Willow waited until she could see Buffy again before letting out a relieved breath.

"I hope you told her to get lost."

Buffy nodded her head, before picking up her wine and draining it in one go.

Willow's eyes widened.

"Buffy, don't let her get to you." Anya reached over and grabbed Buffy's hand.

The blonde half smiled and looked at Willow.

"So, that was my ex."

Willow half laughed.

"Yeah, I kinda got that one baby."

Buffy sighed and rested her head on the table.

"I told her to leave, but I know her. She's going to stay until she's sick of playing."

Willow rubbed Buffy's back, not caring who saw them.

"What does she want?"

Buffy looked up and met her eyes.

"Me."

-----

One week later, and Buffy was sick of bumping into Gwen. She seemed to be everywhere.

At the Bronze, at the shops, hell, even at the local library, and Buffy knew that she hated reading.

Finally, hearing Gwen call her name in the grocery store as she was leaving, Buffy had enough.

"Would you just leave already! I don't want you here." She turned and pushed her cart out the door and over to her SUV.

As she was loading the bags, she saw Gwen coming towards her.

"Look, Buff, you can't just push me away because you say its over."

Buffy turned, her eyebrow raised.

"You pushed me away remember."

Gwen shrugged and crossed the road separating them in the parking lot, not seeing the car coming towards her as she was between two others.

Buffy did though.

"Gwen look-" she watched as if in slow motion as the car failed to slow down because the driver hadn't seen the brunette.

Gwen was hit straight on, and Buffy watched horrified as her body flew into the air before landing a few feet away, bouncing off the hard ground.

The driver skidded and jumped out of his car.

"Oh my god is she okay? Where did she come from?"

Buffy was in shock as she reached for her cell.

-----

Willow was giddy as she put on her hat and gown.

"Valedictorian. You deserve it Will."

Turning, she hugged Xander and straightened her hat again.

"Do I look okay?"

He nodded and pulled her in for a hug.

"You look beautiful."

"You trying to steal my girl Harris?"

He turned, a grin on his face, watching the blonde walk into the empty classroom.

"Never Buffy."

Buffy smiled and waited until Xander was out of the room, before pulling Willow to her.

"Just think, in a few hours, school will be over."

Willow grinned and leaned in, kissing the blonde passionately, happy that she was free to do so.

Buffy sighed into the kiss. They hadn't shared much this past month.

It was only after Gwen's funeral, which Buffy paid for, that the blonde had asked Willow to stay with her, not for sex, but just to hold her as she slept.

"Will, sorry to interrupt, but we need to go."

They pulled apart with a sigh, and Willow took a bow.

"See you in a few."

Buffy smiled and patted her on the ass as she walked by.

"Knock 'em dead honey."

-----

As soon as she got off stage, Willow headed straight over to her parents, knowing if she went to Buffy, people would see more than she wanted them too.

Buffy watched her, a smile on her face.

Everything was packed and ready to go. Both Willow and Xander wanted a chance to say goodbye to their hometown, so Anya and Buffy were going later that night, and the other two were following in a few days.

"She did well."

Buffy smiled at Anya, a proud look on her face.

"Yeah, her speech really hit home I think."

Anya nodded, and smiled as Xander came up to them.

"Hey guys."

Buffy wrapped him up in a hug,

"Congratulations Xander."

He grinned and ducked his head. After hearing that he was a worthless piece of shit all his life, to graduate meant a lot to him.

Anya stepped up and kissed him, causing Buffy to look away when it became to passionate.

"I can't wait to get out of here."

Buffy turned to see Willow behind her.

"Yeah?"

Willow grinned and let her hand graze Buffy's ass.

"Definitely."

-----

Willow and Xander sat under the tree at the park, reminiscing of times when they would play there when they were younger.

"And look at us now. We're both taking off to L.A with two beautiful women."

Willow grinned, and stood up.

"So, what are we waiting for?"

-----

After saying goodbye to their friends and family, though Xander's weren't that concerned, the two got into Buffy's Porsche Carrera GT.

Xander pouted as Willow got behind the drivers seat before getting into the passenger side.

"Ask her to take you down to Lorne's track. See if she'll let you drive it."

Xander thought about it for a few minutes, before turning to Willow.

"You think she would let me?"

Willow smiled and nodded.

"Sure, but you'd have to be careful, she loves this car."

He grinned,

"Yet, she lets you drive it."

Willow smirked and pulled on a pair on sunglasses.

"Yeah, but she loves me more."

-----

As they passed the 'Now leaving Sunnydale' sign, Willow slowed the car down to a crawl.

"Are we really going to do this?"

Sharing a look with Xander, she grinned and pressed down hard on the gas.

"Hell yes!" They both shouted as they left town, each one glad to be leaving, though for different reasons.

-----

a/n, turns out I was grinning a little insanely, which tipped off the Prof... ah well, must remember not to do that from now on...
