Chapter 3

Buffy ran out of the Bronze her eyes filled with tears blurring her vision. She stumbled and fell down into aa pile of old boxes.

She stayed down wanting more than ever to just fade away, and die.

She didn't hear the door open, or feel as someone flipped her over onto her back.

She never even felt as the man nuzzled into her neck and bit down.

As Faith was getting up Willow drew out of her stupor, "What are you doing?" Willow asked.

Faith pointed to the door and rolled her eyes at Willow's confused look, "You didn't just see the vamp that went out after blondie?"

Willow was up and out of her chair before Faith could move another step.

She pushed open the back door clutching the stake she had inside her coat.

She winced at the scene that met her.

The vamp Faith had seen was pinning Buffy's lifeless body to the cement, and was attached to her throat.

The real thing that scared her was the look in Buffy's face. She had a hint of fear, but also acceptance, and a lost look about her.

Willow ran up to her and plunged the stake through his undead heart.

He erupted in dust causing Willow to fall through were he had been and land on Buffy's body.

Willow started into apology mode immediately, but stopped when Buffy didn't give her a response.

Faith burst through the door holding her stake at ready.

Seeing the scene in front of her Faith called back to Xander to bring the car around.

A minute later Xander's car came around the corner to the opening of the alley.

At the car's sound Buffy's eyes fluttered open, "Wha... What was t-that t-t-thing?" Buffy asked her voice small and child like.

Willow pushed Buffy's head back down and said stroking her hair softly, "Don't worry I got you," she said, and after Buffy gave a small nod she whispered, "And I will never let go."

An hour later they were sitting at the library telling Giles everything that had happened. Willow had been adamant in telling Buffy about vamps, Giles tried to talk her out of it but was unable to.

The only thing that had suprised Giles was how Buffy had ran out because of a couple girls.

The blonde in question started to stir on the couch, "Wha... Who... Where am I?" She started to scratch her neck and she came to her bandage across her neck.

Willow's hand shot out to stop Buffy from opening the wound again, "Don't touch it it will only get worse."

It took another hour to explain everything to Buffy. When she finally overcame the shock she asked Xander to bring her home.

Xander complied and helped her walk out to his car.

Willow ran over to the only computer in the room determined to find out all she could about Buffy's past.

When she finished the scan and got past the encryption's she gasped in shock.

What she found was not good.

Buffy had told Xander to drive to her house at 1630 Revello Drive.

She stayed quiet the whole drive and Xander didn't question her, 'She did just learn about vamps, and demons.'

Buffy climbed out of the car in front of the modest house. She said goodbye.

Once Xander was out of seeing distance Buffy ran two blocks to her real house.

It was a somewhat broken down old one story house.

She opened the door slowly when she heard arguing from inside.

She saw a figure inside that she hadn't seen for a while, "What honey. You missed me?" Hank asked before he made his way away from Joyce, and punched Buffy in the face causing her to black out.
