Buffy walked into the living room to find Willow cuddled with Slayer the second on the couch. She found Willow's tiny camera, and took a picture because it was such a cute sight. The flash caused Willow to open her eyes and stretch. Slayer didn't move a muscle, too content in his spot curled into the redhead.

"Hey..." Buffy came over, and sat at Willow's feet.

"Hey yourself..." Willow turned over, causing Slayer to jump off the couch with a grunt. The little cocker spaniel wasn't happy about having to move. Buffy took the spot, and cuddled next to Willow. The redhead just wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. "Tired?"

"Not really...just bored, I guess..." It was a lazy Saturday. Not much to do, no big potential threats... "Though you look like you were snoozing quite peacefully..."

"Until something or someone woke me up...I don't think Slayer is talking to you now." Willow noticed the cocker spaniel eyeing Buffy with a little content in her eyes. It was hilarious and cute at the same time.

"She does look a little upset that I took her spot. Looks like I have some new competition." Buffy smirked, and leaned over to kiss Willow. They hadn't made love in a few days, since they were taking Joyce to the hospital. She was getting a tumor removed the doctors had discovered in her brain. It explained the many headaches and dizzy spells the older Summers was having, and Buffy was scared. It was her mom, after all.

Plus, she'd been taking care of Dawnie. That was a job in and of itself. Hospital, slay, Dawnie watch, slay, hospital, home. That's been her schedule for the past week. With her mom in the hospital for recovery, Buffy's nerves were shot, and just wanted Willow to hold her most of the time.

"I think we should get Dawnie, and go out to eat tonight. We haven't been out to a nice restaurant in awhile." Buffy settled back in Willow's arms.

"You don't want it to be a date?"

"It'll be like a date, sure."

"But with Dawnie there, that kinda defeats the purpose." Willow was scared, too. Buffy was shutting off because of her mom, not talking, and all she ever wanted to do was cuddle. It frightened the redhead because Joyce was more like a mother to her than her own. When Joyce went in for her surgery, Willow had left for ten minutes to get something for them to eat, and she comes back to find a male nurse flirting with her girlfriend...and Buffy wasn't pushing him away.

"Well, we can't just leave her to starve."

"She steals your mom's generic Jell-o..." Willow was digging but the thought of a date with Buffy? It had her hopes up a little more than usual. "I know...we can let Xander watch her!"

"We can't do that." Buffy thought about it for a minute. They WERE due a nice date, after all... "...or can we?"

"Of course we can." Willow was surprised at Buffy's sudden change of heart, as the blonde called Xander, and got the okay. They'd come over and watch Dawn tonight, and the two lovebirds could go out and have some fun, unwind, take away some stress.

"Can we go to the hospital now? I wanna check on Mom." Dinner was good but Buffy was fidgety, and calling Xander every five minutes on her cell phone. Willow just sighed her frustration, and let it go.

"I'm ready." Willow picked up her purse, put the tip on the table, and paid the bill, while Buffy talked to Xander for the umpteenth time. The blonde had barely even touched her food, and they were at her favorite restaurant. Willow had the waiter box up the food, so Buffy would have something to eat after patrol.

They walked in silence, holding hands all the way to the hospital, where Joyce was sleeping. They sat for a while but the nurses said that she'd just fallen asleep before they arrived, and the girls knew the woman needed rest, so they left to relieve Xander of Dawn duty.
