Chapter 6

[reviews]

This was slightly rushed so sorry if there are any mistakes. Anyways hope you all enjoy and happy birthday Kirky!

It wasn't long until someone spoke up. "Well bloody hell." Taking off his glasses he began to wipe them. "No wonder she didn't want to come back. Girl made wrong choices and expects forgiveness?" His harsh tone shocked the rest of them.

"But it wasn't her fault." Xander began to speak up, something he should have done from the beginning. He felt he should have been there as soon as his Wills had come back. "She was hooked on magic, and she was confused..." he tried to come up with more excuses for her. She had it rough and they all knew words weren't needed to explain her hardships.

Looking the boy straight in the eyes he spoke. "It was her fault, it is her fault," his voice coarse with anger. "You don't get hooked by magic accidentally, it takes a weak person. Someone unwilling to put forth the work at control, she bloody well knew how much she could take and went well and above it. Surprised she hadn't snapped earlier."

No one spoke, all too shocked at what their teacher and father figure was saying. After a few moments Tara stood up. "Were you not the one telling her what to do with her magic? How far she 'had' to go to 'save the world' you are just as responsible as everyone else her." This shocked everyone that shy, quiet Tara spoke up to Giles. Without one stutter.

Giles rose, needing to be understood. Pointing at the door he spoke again. "That girl knew the dangers, she bloody well should have learned. No one was pushing her to do magic, it was something she did on her own accord. Besides, what she did after leaving here has absolutely nothing to do with me."

This time Buffy stood up. "Sit!" Both parties took their seat, Giles grumbling all the way and Tara quickly finding comfort in her lovers' arms. "Now, we are not here to argue. Willow was willing to tell us her story and it had to have taken a hell of a lot of courage. A lot has happened to her, and we should ALL be willing to help her through it." Taking her seat again she waited.

"I don't see the bloody reason why we should! So she 'says' she over magic, and she 'says' she over drugs, and she has a child. How do we know she won't do it all over again. She killed someone with her magic. Now she has an innocent little girl." His voice continued to rise through out his speech. "I don't think she should be trusted. As for her daughter, I...."

"You have no fucking idea what she's been through so shut the fuck up!" It was Faith's turn. She had a clear idea how the redhead must have felt and what she still feels about it all. Fire burned in her eyes as she spoke. She once looked up to this man, now he was worse than any man she had ever known before and that was saying a lot.

Buffy stood behind her sister slayer, agreeing with her 100 percent. "I can't believe you. How can you say such things when you know what we've all been through? What she's been through? Now you wanna just throw her back out there?" Buffy couldn't believe what her Watcher was saying.

"I don't believe that she gave up the black magic. I don't trust that girl. And now she has a daughter, after using drugs and sleeping around like a common whore she..." a quick smack was what finished his speech. Buffy had moved past everyone and planted one hell of a right punch.

Immediately Joyce spoke. "Get out Rupert." Her voice had never been filled with such anger before. "You will not talk about my daughter or grandchild like that. You are no longer welcome at this residence." The look in her eye could have easily killed

Picking himself off the floor he stood up. Faith had grabbed the older slayer, making sure she didn't give the man a good bumbling, something he was definitely in need of. Walking past the crowd he opened and shut the door. The room seemed quiet as everyone tried to register what just happened.

The next day Willow woke up with Dylan in her usual place, her arms. The little girl had a hard time understanding her mothers actions yesterday and it showed. Willow had tried to keep herself strong, but there were definite moments where she broke down. As soon as they got home she told her daughter to go upstairs and get ready for bed. Willow had then gone into the kitchen and cried. She couldn't keep it in any longer.

After a few minutes she cleaned herself up and went to Dylan. The girl was sitting there on her bed waiting. Walking in Willow pulled out some jammies and proceeded to change Dylan's clothes. Once done Willow skipped the story and put Dylan in bed. Kissing her goodnight she left. In her room she began to cry into her pillow and stayed this way until sheer exhaustion took her.

Dylan had heard her mother crying and couldn't sleep herself. Once her mother calmed she climbed into bed with her. Wrapping her little arms around her mother, who in turn had woken up and held Dylan in hers.

Willow simply laid there watching her daughter sleep as thoughts began to come to her mind. Something that happened quite frequently. Dylan was a special child, always seeming to understand things, even when nothing was spoken. The two had a strong bond she couldn't explain. Perhaps it was magic or a motherly bond, she didn't know. But she always knew what Dylan had wanted or needed from her and Dylan knew the same about her. She had never known a bond to be so strong, but was thankful that she had it. Dylan was the main person she had for three years and without her Willow's life would not be what it is today.

As Dylan began to stir Willow began kissing her daughter all over, causing a fit of giggles. Stopping so her daughter could breathe she looked down into emerald eyes, so bright and full of life. "What do you think about pancakes?" Smiling down she asked.

"Yay! Pancakes!" The little girl began to bounce around. Dylan loved pancakes, especially the part where she got to help make them. Getting out of bed Willow opened her arms for Dylan to jump into. And jump is exactly what Dylan did, off the bed and into loving arms.

Walking into the kitchen Willow sat Dylan on the counter, instructing her not to move. Nodding her head she waited while her mother set the necessary ingredients and tools beside her. Pouring the each ingredient into a measuring cup she let Dylan pour the cup into the bowl.

Dylan loved mixing and watching it change from a bunch of things into one. Willow picked up some dry mix and put it on Dylan's nose. This brought the concentrating girl out of her daze. A shocked expression on her face at what her mother had done and now was laughing at. Picking up some dry batter mix with her tiny hand as well she threw at her mother.

The two proceeded to laugh and continue their work. Dylan had finished beating the mix, smiling proudly up at her mother. "Good job Dylan!" Kissing her little cheek Willow took the bowl and gave it a quick beating. Pouring the mix onto the hot pan she waited. Dylan seemed to have an itch and wiped her face, spreading even more powder over her.

Chuckling again Willow turned the pancake. Turning the oven on she place a plate in it to get warm. As soon as the pancakes were almost done Willow quickly whipped up a small patch of scrambled eggs. Again Dylan beat the eggs before Willow cooked them. As soon as it was all finished Willow arranged pancakes and eggs on two plates. Setting them at the table she turned to Dylan who was still sitting on the counter.

Walking over she quickly cleaned her daughters face and hands as well as her own. Letting Dylan down she set about getting the drinks and silverware. Dylan stared down at her pancakes. Willow would make all kinds of pancakes. Dylan liked small pancakes, ones she could easily pick up and munch on. Some were silver dollars while others were shaped. Willow sat and the two quickly ate their breakfast.

Picking up the dirty dishes she placed them in the sink, not wanting to spend time on them. Looking down at Dylan she knew the girl needed a bath. She was covered in pancake batter and eggs. "Bath time," smiling she told her daughter who ran up the stairs as fast as her little legs could carry her. Rushing after her she quickly found Dylan in the bathroom fighting with her shirt, helping her out of it before she began to start her bathwater. Quickly filling the water with warm water she finished undressing her two year old.

Dylan practically jumped inside the tub, more than happy to splash and make another mess. Bath time went by rather fast. Dylan was quickly washed and cleaned, with playtime found in the middle and more towards the end. When the water was getting cold Willow took a big bath towel and wrapped it around her baby.

Drying off Willow redressed Dylan into some play clothes. She was about to change her own clothes when there was a knock at the door. Picking up the newly dressed Dylan she went to answer it. Opening it she saw Xander on the other side. "Oh hey ya Xan, what are you doing here?" Opening the door more she let him enter.

"Well, I was wondering, I mean we were wondering if you wanted to come over for a lunch? We're gonna have a BBQ and fun things if you two want to come." His smile was so warming she quickly hugged the young man.

"That would be great." Pulling back she saw his goofy grin in place. "Do you want to watch Dylan while I change? Can't very well go over in this," pointing down at her pj pants and tank top she giggled, which were by now covered in pancakes, eggs, and water.

"Sure," he chuckled himself at the sight of her. Willow let Dylan down and looked into her eyes.

"I'm going to change, Xander here," pointing to him she finished, "is going to watch you. You be good." Touching her daughters nose, Dylan giggled. Nodding her head she spun around to look at him. Xander had little experience with children and waved at her. Willow went upstairs to change as Dylan and Xander continued to stare at each other.

She seemed to be studying him as Xander stood there. He was slightly nervous, but figured he could handle almost anything that happened, anything but diapers. Crouching down he was eye level with her. "Are you ticklish?" Dylan's eyes got wide as his hands began to get closer to her. She turned and ran, laughing and screaming as he chased her.

Upstairs Willow was just about finished when she heard Dylan scream. Worried something happen she ran towards the door. Completely forgetting she still hadn't pulled her pants up, she tripped and fell with a big thud.

Downstairs Xander was carefully tickling a fallen Dylan. He had very gently picked her up and laid her down on her back. Tickling her little tummy she screamed her laughter out while Xander was simply laughing.

Willow managed to pull her pants up this time before running out the room, practically jumping down the stairs she miraculously landed on her feet in the living room where she found what all the noise was. Nearly falling back from the recent heart attack she sat on the stairs holding her chest.

The loud thump of Willows landing stopped his tickle rant on the child. Looking up he saw his friend about to fall over as she grabbed at her heart. Dylan squirmed out from under him towards her mother. Placing a hand on her mothers knee Dylan cautiously waited for a reaction. Willow took another deep breath, willing her heart to stop racing. Smiling down at Dylan she opened her arms to her waiting daughter.

Eager to be held, she leaped into her arms. Willow hugged Dylan warmly as she looked up at Xander. He was nearly laughing at the way his friend had behaved. Never before had he seen her move so fast. She could have given any slayer a run for their money by that jump alone.

Watching the two he knew Willow was a good mother and would do anything in her powers for her daughter. Walking over he sat beside her on the steps. "Didn't mean to scare you Wills," chuckling slightly he put his arm across her shoulders. "Why don't you finish getting dressed and I'll help Dylan get her uh... shoes on."

Looking down Dylan did need a few things before leaving, and she still needed a few things before walking out the door. "Think this time you could not scare the wits out of me." Laughing the three finished getting the two of them ready.

Xander agreed to take Willow's car, since it had the booster already in it, to the Summers residence. It took awhile before the redhead realized something. "Isn't it Monday? Why aren't you guys at work or classes or something?"

"Oh well, I called in sick." Making a gesture he began to cough, forcing a smirk on the hackers' features. "The rest of them, well, Joyce closed shop for the day. Anya was reluctant but she too closed the shop so both girls will be there. Faith and Buffy never work on a Monday, big surprise I'm sure. Dawn has a class a bit later, but she'll be there for awhile. I think that's about it."

Willow quickly realized he hadn't said anything about Giles and his expression fell slightly as he thought about that name as well. "Sounds like its going to be a great day." Willow said trying to lighten the mood.
