Chapter 7

[reviews]

I know this is short and really really late, but my life as been on the down part of a roller coaster and I am really hoping we are heading back up :P Anyways enjoy :D

Hearing familiar voices in the backyard Dylan ran ahead while Willow and Xander took their time. Finding her grandmother sitting on the back porch Dylan ran up, practically leaping into her arms. Joyce was more than happy to cuddle the little girl, smiling both got comfy while Joyce waited for Xander and Willow to round the corner.

When the two did Xander and Willow were laughing about some joke he must have made, considering he had his Xander smirk on and Willow playfully slapped his arm.

"Hey there Wills," Buffy got up off the grass and headed towards her friend. "How are you this Monday?" Sliding her hand into the redheads the two walked to the back porch while Xander started up the grill.

"Sorry Xan, but Anya said she wasn't feeling that great. She's all excited about being sick for some reason." Faith said still sitting down.

"Well you know An, she's not the average woman." Laughing as he started putting the patties on the grill.

Faith and Tara got up and all the girls sat on the back steps together. "Well, we had a messy morning but other than that everything went great." Seeing their expression of curiosity she finished off, "we made pancakes." With that everyone began to laugh.

"So who wants what?" Xander's voice broke through and everyone gave their orders. It wasn't long until the food was put out on the benches in the yard, everyone sitting and chatting up a storm. Dylan was running around, burning off some extra energy with Faith, who herself was having a tad bit of a problem keeping up. Tara simply laughed at her girlfriend who was in need of a rest break. Walking over to her fallen girl she brought a big glass of lemonade.

"Aww. My poor slayer get beat by a toddler," ever laughed as they watched the three of them. Dylan was getting along real well with everyone in the gang and Willow was slightly surprised but extremely happy.

"Hey ya Wills." Dawn called out from the back door. "Can you come here for a minute?" Getting up and releasing Buffy's hand she walked towards the youngest Summers. "I just wanted to tell you how happy I am your back." Smiling she quickly wrapped her arms around her sister like figure.

"Thanks Dawn, you don't know how much this means to me." Hugging her back equally the two stood there for a moment longer before pulling back.

"Well I should get going to classes. Stupid teachers. Don't they know its all pointless anyways." Huffing a bit she headed out back to say goodbye to everyone. What the two walked in on was something neither expected.

There stood Giles with several other British men. "Willow." His voice was solid, nearly cold. Everyone stopped what they did. Dylan was scared as she stood still shaking. Buffy being the closest picked up the small girl who gripped tightly to her shirt. Rubbing her back she tried to calm her down a little but knew there was nothing she could do right now to help.

Willow came walking out behind Dawn and saw the men. The Scooby gang were all standing. Seeing the Council Members in the back yard was something not acceptable by anyone. Faith came and stood beside Buffy with Tara just behind and off to the side. "What do you want?" Buffy spoke, trying to keep her voice even and not scare the child in her arms.

Taking a confident step forward Giles said one word. "Willow."

Walking over so she was beside the eldest slayer she tried figuring this out. "What do you want with me?" Standing strong she asked.

"I don't believe you when you say you're no longer evil Willow. I mean you say you are over magic and received help but I clearly do not believe you." He stood there believing every word coming out of his mouth. "As for your daughter, we will leave her out of this for now."

Everyone nearly blew a gasket. "What do you mean G man. There is no way in hell am I letting you do anything to Red or the kid." Giving him a look that vampires feared she saw what she wanted. There was fear in the old man, but his goons didn't look faced. Tara took her hand, trying to make sure to keep Faith grounded.

"We simply want to do a few tests on you." Stating as matter of fact.

Willow was starting to have a few problems as she watched the men. Listening to the way they spoke about her. but what got her real mad was the way this man was talking about her kid. 'Leaving her out of it for now' what the hell did they want with her daughter? One thing for sure they were never going to get their hands on her daughter.

Tara, easily sensing the magic coming off Willow released her girls hand. Walking behind the slayers towards Willow. Linking their hands she telecommunicated with her. "Willow you need to calm down." Blinking a few times she noticed Tara beside her. Holding her hand as her soothing voice echoed in her head. "I feel the magic in you. I promise we won't let anything happen to you or Dylan."

"Its so hard Tara." Speaking through the connection she was feeling pushed to do something. The gang continued fighting and all the turmoil was hitting her head on. Seeming to attack her physically and emotionally.

Suddenly the two looked to one of the men standing behind Giles. "He's doing it Tara. He wants me to do something to prove I'm evil. I can't fight him Tara. Please make him stop." Willow begged her.

Tara gave the man one look as she whispered several words. Both Willow and the mage collapsed at the same time. The fight stopped for a moment as everyone look at the two fallen members. "Mommy!" Dylan was watching her mother fight something then fall to the ground.

Buffy turned and saw Willow laying there. Moving quickly she knelt beside her, letting Dylan go she began checking her fallen friend. "That man was doing something to Willow. Buffy he was hurting her. They want her to use magic against them. So they can take her away Buffy." Tara spoke softly, but both slayers heard her loud and clear.

Not taking it anymore Faith walked straight up to her ex Watcher. Grapping him by the front of the shirt she lifted him off the ground. "You take them and leave. If I see or hear about any of you in Sunnydale again, let's just say I know a place where no one can hear your screams." Throwing Giles into the bunch of Watchers she watched as they all got up and ran away.

Once gone she turned back to look at everyone. Buffy was picking up the redhead and carrying her inside, Dylan was being held back a bit by Joyce. The gang was quickly following them inside. Setting Willow down on the couch Tara came over to look her over. Dylan was crying and screaming in the woman's arms. Letting her down Dylan ran to her mother, crying into her mothers shirt.

"Well she seems to have no magic pushed into her, although that's what the other man was trying to do. He was trying to force Willow to use magic, proving their point that she is dangerous." Searching Willow's body for any sign of abuse by the mage she found nothing. Looking into her aura she found several emotions. In sleep it was clearer to view. She was extremely exhausted and full of fear. These two were the main feelings inside.

Buffy moved beside Dylan and gently pulled the girl to her. Holding tightly to the woman she cried hard. Repeatedly saying 'Mommy' over and over again as Buffy tried her best to comfort the girl. Carefully lifting the girl she walked out of the room. Rocking the girl side to side in the kitchen until her sobs quieted down and her breathing was slow and steady.

Walking back in the living room she walked towards Tara. "How long do you think till she wakes up?" Whispering into the witch's ear.

"I don't know. She's so drained I wouldn't be surprised if she slept for the rest of the day and into the night." Slightly shrugging as she spoke.

Buffy sighed before she came up with an idea. "Let's move her upstairs into my bedroom. That way she can sleep all she wants and someone should go over to her place and pick up a few things for her and Dylan." Everyone nodded as Faith slowly cradled the redhead in her arms. Walking upstairs she carefully laid her on the bed before closing the door.

Downstairs Xander opted to go to the house and pick up a few things, quickly leaving that left all the girls again. "Dawn should get to school. Oh and Tara, I would like your help with a few things if you don't mind. Just safe guard kind of thing."

"Sure Buffy, no problem." Following Buffy into the dining room the two sat down as Faith took a reluctant Dawn off to class.
