Chapter Two

Buffy looked quickly at the raven haired slayer who stood before her. "Uh, not in the strictist sense." She answered, assuming that since the girl obviously knew that she wasn't human, it was pointless to lie to her. "But I swear I'm not evil, at least not anymore, girl scouts honor." Buffy continued as she held up three fingers.

Faith raised her eyebrows at this. "And you are...?"

"Technically? A vampire." Faith looked like she was about to strike. "But I have a soul." Buffy said as she raised her hands in what looked to almost be self defense.

Faith eyed her dubiously. "Mhmm, one slip B and your dust. Got it?" She asked she she pulled the petite blonde closer to her.

"Gotcha." Buffy replied. Faith roughly let go of the other girl and took a couple of steps back.

"See ya 'round." She said before she turned and walked towards what Buffy could only assume would be her next class.

Buffy let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding and gathered her things from around her. She hadn't even been on campus three hours and already the day had taken an interesting turn. She glanced quickly down at her watch before cursing softly. She had five minutes before she was late to her art class. She glanced around to see which direction she would need to go before she took off, making it with one minute to spare.

"Alright class, welcome to Introduction into Art: 101, I'm your instructor, Mrs. Cranston. Before we begin I'd like for all of you to fill out a quick survey for me, okay?" She asked and even though no one said yes or no one way or the other, she still passed out bright pink pieces of paper. Most of the questions on the page seemed to be pretty straight forward, so she set about answering them.

"1. How long have you been interested in art?" She stared at the paper before scribbling "As long as I can remember." The questions continued that way until she got to the very last one.

"Tell me something unique about yourself." It said and left quite a bit more blank room than the rest of the paper had. Buffy contemplated this for a moment. She could hear everyone's pens slow down as they reached this question. She looked at the spot for a minute before turning the page over, and handing it to the professor, leaving the last question blank.

Once everyone had turned in their papers, they quickly went through a syllabus for the class. Buffy glanced down at her watch. The class was supposed to let out in five minutes, then she had ten more before she had intro to psych. The teacher clapped her hands together to get everyone's attention.

"Class will be cut short today since it is the fiirst day. Your assignment? Draw something, anything at all, as long as YOU think its interesting." She smiled happily and waved the students off. Buffy was tempted to raise her eyebrows at this, but, the professor actually seemed kind of normal compared to most of the art teachers she had had.

She quickly walked out and towards her psychology class. She found a seat, got out her notebook and the textbook, beginning to read. She was stuck in her own little world when she felt someone plop rather ungracefully into the chair next to hers. She glanced up to see Willow.

"Hey." The redhead greeted her. "Mind if I sit here?" She asked, gesturing to the chair she was already sitting in.

"Be my guest." Buffy replied. "How was your class?"

"Oh it was great, the professor is this really old british guy, and he had tons of books that I just can't wait to get my hands on." Willow said, then glanced down quickly, turning nearly as red as her hair. "And yes I am always this much of a dork."

Buffy suppressed a chuckle at this. The girl sitting before her was unique, she could tell that much. She was about to tell her something to that extent when two people stood up at the front of the class. The woman spoke up. "I'm Maggie Walsh, I'll be your instructor for introduction into Psychology I, and this is Riley Finn. He'll be TA-ing for me." She said as she gestured at the young man standing next to her. "Now He will be calling roll while I start on your notes for this lecture."

Riley started down the list, pausing for three seconds after each name and looking up to see who answered. "Willow Rosenburg." He called out.

Willow raised her hand in the air. "Present." She said. He glanced up and his eyes almost saw through the girl he looked so disinterested.

He continued on. "Buffy Summers." The blonde raised her hand and copied her neighbor. This time his eyes nearly glazed over with lust and it took him a second to get back to his list.

After roll was called and notes were taken the class was dismissed. Buffy and Willow began discussing the material they had covered as they walked out of the class.

They were interrupted as someone shouted. "Hey, Buffy, wait up." Buffy turned to see who was calling her since she really didn't know anyone at all, and was unsurprised to see the TA. She rolled her eyes. She glanced quickly at Willow.

"Do me a favor? Play along? Please..." She asked as she looked at the redhead, who merely nodded in confusion. Then she felt the cold hands lace with her own.

"Yeah, Riley right? What's up?" She asked, she had grabbed Willows hand in an attempt to blow off the lame date she was about to be asked on.

"I was just wondering if you maybe wanted to go out sometime?" He asked and even as he glanced down at their linked hands it still didn't hit him.

"Sorry, but I'm kind of...taken?" She said, holding up their hands. Then realization dawned on him, his face turning the shade of a tomato before he smiled tightly and shook his head.

"Yeah, and uhm, I really don't share well." Willow said, catching on to what was happening. She leaned over and placed a quick kiss on her 'girlfriends' cheek. She smiled when she got a blush for her effort.

"Oh, okay, well, maybe some other time." Riley finished off lamely.

"Yeah, sure, maybe." Buffy said in a tone that clearly said 'not in this lifetime' before the two girls turned and walked off.

"Is he still watching?" Willow asked keeping a firm hold on the blonde's hand. If she was honest with herself she would admit that something about holding hands with the blonde just felt...right. But that wasn't a place she was willing to go right now.

Buffy surruptiously glanced back. "Yup." She kept a tight hold on the redhead, the warmth from her hand sending goosebumps all the way up the blonde's arm. They finally rounded a corner and Buffy loosened her grip on the girls hand, completely willing to let go, however the redhead seemed to have different plans.

"C'mon, I'll show you my dorm room. If you dont have another class right now that is..." Willow asked uncertainly.

"No, yeah, I mean, I don't have another class, I'll come and see your dorm." Buffy answered lamely.

Buffy was amazed at this girl utter acceptance of her. Then again, she argued, Willow had no idea that Buffy was a vampire, Buffy shrugged mentally as she continued towards the Stevenson Hall.

"Oh, hey, I live in this dorm too. Have you met your roomie yet?" Buffy asked as she glanced up. She hadn't been to her dorm room herself yet, in fact she really couldn't even remember what number it was. She sighed thinking that she'd have to check on that.

"No, you?"

"Nope. Don't even know the room number." She said with a shrug.

"Well, we can check it right there." Willow said pointing to the clipboard at the base of the stairs. Buffy glanced quickly through the list. Room number 214.

"K, I'm in room 214." She said as she glanced up.

"Wow, me too!" Willow said with a big smile. Buffy tried to smile back but was only slightly successful. "Come on, I'll show you where it is." Willow said and walked in front of the blonde up the stairs. Buffy watched Willow's cute little butt as she walked and thought to herself, 'This is gonna be a long semester.'

A/N: let me know what you think?
